I was on the Avanti Express lift today and I noticed these on the seat of every chair. They look like stickers but I think they are something that is used to secure small children in the chair.

Of note, I see the same sort of sticker/magnetic thing on Quicksilver Super6, only those are painted with the Breckenridge 'B' on an orange background instead of a bulls-eye. You can sort of see that in this photo:

So what are these "sticker" things?

My guess is it may be an inexpensive way to identify seat location. My reference picture shows the idea of single seat spots as part of carrier design.

I would have to agree with SkiLiftsRock, that seems like the most likely purpose. Any lift near me that there is actually a 5+ minute line for usually as "teeth" as well as sometimes footrests on the bar to do so...

If I ever go to Vail, remind me to bring my bow and arrow

With the right overhead scanner, they could be targets for a stop (passenger over-ride) gate. The targets would be covered by a passenger.

All Vail Resorts mountains have been getting them. They are butt targets.

An insult to our collective intelligence. How long have we been sitting in chairs?

I've always assumed the stickers are for magnetic harnesses for small children who have to be hoisted into the chair. Interestingly it's only the Avanti Express that features these, at least this year.

They are just stickers to try and help the beginners get lined up

I can agree with Donald, there are magnetic chair restraints, and this may just be implemented under the seat. It could also be seat location as well. WhO knOWS?

Like I said, they are butt targets. There is no magnet under the seat plus that would not help keep small rider in the seat.
