This is the week that the forum will be updated to version 4, (after much heartburn to get things ready on the hosting and compatibility side of things) so note that there might be some forum downtime this week but by the end of it we should have the upgraded version which should kill many of the bugs currently running around in the forum.

Thanks for the patience!

Does this include the bug that redirects you to "URLForShort" whenever you try to access the forum from Google?

That is the main one it should fix, that bug is thanks to some hot links imbedded somehow in the old forum software with the new stuff those shouldn't be there anymore
Thanks

Frustratingly while I was away from internet for the past week or so they tried the update but it didn't work, apparently although they had told me our version of cPanel etc (the backbone of the site) would work with Inv4 it didn't. I'm now working on updating the backbone with SQL cPanel etc and once that is done hopefully they'll get the update applied finally. Wish Invision had told me that before, as previously they had said we were all ready to go.
Sorry for the delay.

Sorry for the recent downtime, bad news it was an issue thanks to the updates we're doing on the back end, good news is the updates are now working and we're a couple more steps closer to having everything up to date.

So - what is now improved?

Question ; I didn't bother to screenshot the message google chrome was giving me but basically it said that I couldn't connect due to my host and not the server - did this have anything to do with the update?

There were a couple errors but the root cause was a failed SQL update, working on getting that to work right this time, and also give us an easier back up plan in case that happens again.
