There's an article in today's Seattle Times about the horrible season in the Pacific Northwest: http://seattletimes...._nosnowxml.html

The Summit at Snoqualmie is now closed and has operated less than 40 days with only a handful of runs. This is normally the 15th most visited resort in the US!

Crystal Mountain is down to one lift with gondola downloading.

11 of 15 WA resorts are closed today. Only 3 resorts are open in Oregon.

Webcams tell the story pretty well...

Yikes, the images remind me of that time I went to Bretton Woods in February:

Colorado looks a bit better. 54 inch base at Breck as of today. They have some snow showers in the forecast, though not much.

Oh, Pacific Northwest, if only there was a winter weather god out there who loved you.

Pretty rough up here too. Mt Eyak (Cordova) is closed, so is Eaglecrest (Juneau). Alyeska finally got the full mountain open last week when they could move some snowmaking over to Chair 7 (terrain park, access to the hotel). We opened two weekends ago, but have very, very minimal cover, with rain forecasted for late this week.

At least it's pretty!

Edit: Eyak is at least running a rope tow; doesn't sound like their lift has been open recently, though. Alyeska still has some lower-mountain trails closed that aren't part of the snowmaking system.

Cypress Mountain and Mt Seymour outside of Vancouver are shut down too. Looks like Grouse Mountain is closed (or very close to it) as well. This is just ridiculous.

Very sad. Not a lot of snowfall this year for Colorado and Utah.

We're in the same situation as Mike @ Big White... Everything is open, the rain just needs to go away! Lower elevations are a little thin.

I guess Tahoe's not doing so well either, it's been so hot in Colorado (40's-50's at World Championship races) that whatever snow we do have is starting to thin out and melt. Anybody know how the snow is in Montana, more specifically Big Sky and Bridger? I'm hoping to get over there for spring break.

It's been in the 50's on campus in Bozeman. Big Sky has been thin down low and glazed on the peak, Bridger had half the forest blow down on the trails in the last few days so it looks worse than it is due to all the pine needles in the snow.

Western Montana supposedly has been better.

Heading to Jackson next weekend seems everything has been going down that way

The Vancouver north shore tends to have 1-2 bad years and then 5-6 good ones. This seems much worse than usual, but 2010 for the Olympics was also bad. Still remember 1998 when Cyprus reopened into June I think. How is Whistler? Manning Park?

Was up at Vail this weekend, everything was open but thin in a few spots and in the 40s and 50s in early February. Too hot to wear a shirt at the world championship races at BC

Snowbasin was getting thin in lots of spots with dirt and weeds showing on runs.. Pretty sad my lawn is staring to green up and leaves on some plants showing up. Pretty poor winter here in Utah so far. :(

You know, I'll take the ~65'' we have. It may be subpar, but it's snow.

Finally found the web cams for Grouse, Cyprus and Hemlock. Much worse than I ever imagined! Looks like mid-October. Not even snow in the trees or in hollows. Almost the whole mountain in bare of snow. I have never seen it even this bad in Early December in a bad year.

Interesting, Cyprus seems to have disabled their web-cam! Overall a look at BC resort web-cams make them look like Grouse and Seymour usually do (wet slush).

Up at the Ridge, there's a 12" base. The resort will be closed until Friday, and chairs 3 and 4 have been out for the last few weeks. There is a 10% chance of snow Sunday, so, fingers crossed. They are staying below freezing for the most part, so there won't be very much more damage in the short run. Let's just hope they can somehow make it back to at least somewhat normal.
