It will be a Leitner-Poma HSQ with the LPA grip. Same line as they will reuse the towers and sheave assemblies (original Leitner).

Was talking with someone who has skied Eldora this season and word has it that 2 HSSs are planned for this summer: one to replace Cannonball and Challenge and the other to serve the backside as an additional lift, maybe that "Moose Glades" chair they had in their master plan. Can anyone confirm this?? Finding it a little hard to beleive after such a crummy season but stranger things have happend. I did not see any announcement of that nature on their website.

I know that was on their master plan but there was no real timeline on that.

That is an old master plan from 2008. There have been numerous changes since that map's development. The new lift will follow the current lift line. As Dino said, towers and sheave assemblies are being re-used without complete relocation.
Also, that masterplan map doesn't account for the new 'Adventure Park' development that eliminated the accessibility for the proposed "South Quad."

Hyland Ski and Snowboard Area in Bloomington, MN is getting a FGQ by SkyTrak (sp?) to replace the 80s Center Chair (triple).

Snowbird will be upgrading the Little Cloud Lift this summer from a fixed grip double, to a high-speed quad chairlift! This upgrade has not bee officially announced, but I have several credible sources that confirm that the new lifts have been purchased already.
Summer 2013 will see the Gad 2 chair also get a much needed upgrade from a janky old double to a shiny new high speed quad. I have heard that both of the chairs will be run at less than full speed to keep skier traffic at a more manageable level.
In the comments section: "I’ve heard through the employee grapevine that Doppelmayr will be doing both the lifts. Apparently since they bought both of them at the same time they got a better deal on them (which is why the Gad 2 replacement is fairly certain now)."

Alyeska announced a new high speed quad today too. Replacing a Poma quad chair 4. I'm going to guess Doppelmayr but there's nothing official on that yet.

The Peace River Ski Club has officially acquired a quad chairlift system for the Misery Mountain Ski Area in Peace River, which they hope will help expand the ski hill into a year-round destination.
In early January, the Ski Club approached the Town of Peace River and presented the opportunity to install the chairlift, which received unanimous support and a $70,000 contribution to start the project.
“Through the hard work and dedication of our General Manager and Board of Directors, we have been able to capitalize on a once in a lifetime opportunity,” said Sean Banks, president of the Ski Club. “The addition of the chairlift is exciting for the Club as we approach our 50-year anniversary in 2013.”
According to Deputy Mayor, North Darling, the chairlift will be an integral part to the ski hill’s ongoing business plan, which includes expanding runs and developing the mountain into a central park that could be used for various events and activities throughout the summer months.
“The business plan of the ski hill was always looking at what they could do to make the hill a destination in the summer,” Darling told the Record-Gazette. “We felt that the quad chairlift would not only allow them to build additional ski runs in the southern end of the park, but also allow summertime access to the top of the hill.
“Right now, we look at it as a wintertime park, but Peace River really needs to change its paradigm when looking at the mountain because it’s such a huge and beautiful resource that we’re not fully taking advantage of.”
Darling credited councilor Tom Tarpey for coming up with the central park idea initially, and believes it could become one of the prime recreational destinations and viewpoints in Peace River.
“It really is the most beautiful view of Peace River,” he said, adding that it offers a 360 view into the Saddleback and up and down the river, unlike other lookouts in the area.
“There’s talk about mountain bike runs and competitions, hiking and concerts – all sorts of different ideas, so I think it will be a key venue for summertime events in the future.”
Banks, who continues to work tirelessly on the project along with the ski club’s Board of Directors, also sees much potential in opening the mountain for access in the summer and believes it is a very important part of Peace River’s beauty and culture.
“Driving down the east hill as you gaze through the picturesque river valley ahead to the highest vertical drop outside of the Rocky Mountains, you can see a perfect canvas for the rolling runs and stunning lookout points from our wonderful community ski hill,” Banks said.
“The improved offering of the new terrain generated by the project will create opportunities for year-round use of the area and will be an excellent addition to the billboard for our community – it is from this billboard that we can produce revenue to fund more capital projects in the future.”
Now that the chairlift is acquired, it will allow the Club to embark on its fundraising efforts and hopefully gain the support of the community and corporate business in the area.
“While we missed the budgetary proceedings with Murphy Oil Canada, they were still able to make a monetary donation to the project and expressed interest in hearing from our Club again,” Banks said.
In addition, the Club has applied for a Government Community Future Enhancement Program (CFEP) grant in which they were able to add a generous donation-in-kind from Summit Oilfield 1998 in Grimshaw to complete the mulching for the lift system installation.
In early March, they approached the Northern Sunrise County in hopes of gaining their support as well.
“The Club is hoping to hear something positive from that Council soon as this is an important community enhancement project for the Region, which will retain and promote business for local commerce,” Banks said, adding that the fundraising activities have been proceeding very quickly, but they still have a ways to go.
On June 2, the club is planning on holding a Monte Carlo-themed fundraising event at the Grande Community Chalet, which will be open to all members of the community.
The doors will open at 8 p.m. for appetizers, cocktails, games throughout the evening, dancing and an auction. Added Banks, “the Club encourages the Region to rally behind this momentous project.”

Vista Ridge, AB is replacing its Riblet quad with a new Leitner-Poma quad. The Riblet quad was for sale on Summit Lift Co's website, and it would not surprise me if it was bought by Misery Mountain.

Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort plans to replace the venerable two-seater chairlifts with high-speed detachable quads, according to General Manager Bob Bonar.
Gad II dates to the resort’s beginnings in the 1971-72 season, while Little Cloud has provided access to the broad bowl below American Fork Twin Peaks since 1980.
"Our guests have told us replacing Little Cloud is a top priority and they welcome the faster ride to Little Cloud Bowl and Mineral Basin," Bonar said in a news release. The lift will be built by Doppelmayr, a European company with North American headquarters in Salt Lake City.
The upgraded Little Cloud chairlift will follow the same route as the existing lift and will be operational by the 2012-13 ski season, Bonar said. He expects to install a new Gad II lift the next summer after completion of an environmental assessment for the U.S. Forest Service.
A new pump station also will be installed in Peruvian Gulch this summer, allowing simultaneous snow making there, in Gad Valley and in Mineral Basin.
"Snowbird is committed to offering sustainable, well-managed, year-round recreation to our growing number of guests," Bonar said.
Jim Morgan, a one-time Snowbird employee who works as a corporate attorney in Salt Lake City, applauds the Gad II upgrade.
"It will allow folks to ski Gad II’s great terrain," he said, "without feeling like it’s taking forever" to get to the slope on the slow old double chair.

Seymour sold all of it's Mystery Peak Murray-Latta chairs today. I got one, but they sold very quickly, like in 4 hours or something for all 126. They are also replacing lodge's chairs, so those are being sold too. (There are not many left, I think they may be out). I don't know what manufacturer they are, but they didn't look Mueller like the rest of the lift does. I guess you could try and fix up one of the chairs from the old ridge lift (If any still are in manageable condition). (left destroyed but standing by a windstorm).

Thredbo ski resort in Australia has started to remove the 48 year old Ramshead double chair, a 1963 vintage Riblet.
It's well over a mile long and was never popular with skiers as it was slow and vulnerable to strong winds, even though it was mostly below the tree-line.
However it is one of only two remaining Riblets in this country. (Riblet was never a popular maker here).
Thredbo are keeping some chairs as spares for Merritts chair (the other Riblet), but will sell 100 chairs for A$100 each (about US$106.)
