Liftmech I agree, also ANSI and common sense say a sheave can only deflect the rope so much…of course that would also require changing the (now flipped) sheaves to support flanges and moving the derail switch and, and… aaaah forget it
For the new members here are the general load themes that must be adjusted for seasonal changes in this application.
Red is negative at the bullwheel (hence two hold-down sheaves)
Blue is positive (a single sheave held by 3 bolts in tension)
Green is neutral or “0” degree cord change in rope angle.

A few catch up pics:

Boyne Mt added some press fit sheaves to the alpine lift top terminal. I wonder why?

New terminal roof on disciples ridge. Others were painted to match.

Boyne highlands opening day. Looks like fun. I was on my mtn bike which the conditions were much better for.

Night snowmaking on the same run a couple of days later.taken in roughly the same spot but looking up.

Japanesse on the tower sign, and looks like how a traditional roof is made in Japan, so could easily be drying them in the wind for some special event or display (or for the lift managers gradmeother's house in the countryside??).

A company that operates a ski resort in Japan regularly uses its chairlift to dry sheaves of rice.
TheIshiuchi-Maruyama Resort trademarked the name "Sky Rice" (tenku-mai) for the Koshihikari rice harvested in Minami-Uonuma, Niigata Prefecture.
An employee of Japan Lift Service, which runs the resort, suggested the idea. The employee grew up farming rice before joining the company. JLS started the sun-dried rice-on-a-lift idea in 2004.
Hanging rice to dry rather than using a combine harvester results in a moister rice grain with a distinct flavor. The 800 meter ski lift goes into normal use when the Ishiuchi ski season begins in the middle of December.

The sheeve liner will sometimes freeze to the hullrope, when the lift starts a section of liner rips out making a flat spot.

It happens. The sheave this liner was in wouldn't turn because the sheave itself was frozen.

Flat spot in the sheave liner?
Ice was thicker on the sheave than the clearance between the pair and the sheave, rookes.

Yeah.
If that is the tower ladder in the picture, then it appears it might be a hard climb.
