Is the top terminal getting put together soon? I don't know when you guys typically get snow. I see the bottom is about finished, though.

Funny timing John, look at it this morning:

Just a few updates for Mt. Snow:
-- According to the trail map for this season, the new lift will be called "Blue Bird Express"
-- The base cam has been conveniently blocked by a large tent, however, it appears that the towers are up.

Deer Valley seems to be moving up the base terminal of the Snowflake beginner double

Anyone know what they're doing? I thought it looked different in this picture, and started investigating. It looks like the bottom terminal was moved a good ways up the hill. First snow the other day.

That is one short lift. I wonder why they didn't just remove the whole thing and install a carpet lift. Now Molly Hogan at Arapahoe Basin is its closest rival. Three towers and 18 chairs.

Now that the tent has been moved, there is a clearer shot:

Yes ,they are doing a six pack in la Bresse... a ski area from the same company that installed the LPOA lift at St. Francois Longchamp a couple years back.

Today I was dreaming of a April ski trip and checking out the Squaw cam for fun....saw a chopper fly thru the streaming High Camp feed with a tower heading down hill.

Details are here: http://blog.deervall...-skier-services

I think it's a strange decision -- Snowflake is already far less popular than Burns, and now, Burns is going to get even busier because anyone who is starting from the base of Wide West or anyone who wants to take a full-length run will need to ride Burns. They say you can still access Snowflake by riding the 3 magic carpets, but is anyone really going to do that? Is it time to put triple chairs on Burns?

I'm sure they have some good plan for the beginner area. Can't imagine what it is just yet but these guys seem to know what they're doing. Maybe this is foreshadowing a Burns high speed quad to match First Time at Park City? I think it was fine the way they had it before, but the competition has upgraded their beginner areas quite a bit

I figure it's only a matter of time before this happens, but I am relieved every year that DV's only remaining original lift gets to operate for another season.
