True, their first lift has the TB-41 grip and the second has the Omega. LPOA could not convince them to become the Midwest Showcase for all three grips! :wink:

P4 should go in early September, I hear. Pretty much waiting on construction of the top terminal since they've got a boom truck and/or a forklift sitting on the foundation site :) Then we get to move carpets around the bottom of the newly-contoured UC base area. Oh joy.

A Perka in Copper ops jargon is a grip maintenance building. The ones at Copper are located at the top of American Eagle (Perka #1), top of Super bee (Perka #3) and the bottom of Timberline Express (Perka 2). So far we will have one for each type of detachable grip in service at the resort. The buildings allow us to perform grip inspections and rebuilds during the season. The buildings also prevent us from having to transport grips large distances to a central shop. The buildings also keep a inventory of parts near the lift.

Thanks. Now that you mentioned it, I have noticed the buildings at the top of T-Rex, Eagle, and Super Bee, I just did not know that is what they are called.

My Bad, boardski. I was using "Copper speak". The first grip maintenance building was built at the top of the Eagle in '89 so we could do grip service during the winter. You will notice that there are rails running from the terminals to the buildings so complete carriers can be removed from the line and put into the buildings for maintenance.
The first building was supplied by a company out of MO named Perka Buildings. The name just stuck.

I saw one of the old Superior towers lying nearby-- are you guys flying them out as well?

Stopped by Park City yesterday. Here are a few pics of the new Three Kings lift. Kind of surprised they moved the base terminal so far up the hill.

They must have wanted less mixing between the snowboard dude crowd and the beginner crowd. This probably also improves access to First Time and Eagle, since you had to herringbone uphill, past the base of the old Three Kings, to access the mazes for all three lifts. Might draw more traffic to Eagle since it's more obvious from the parking lot that it's there

Doesn't look like one of the new EcoDrive lifts, but can anyone tell what terminal style that is? It looks like it will be top-driven and rotate the opposite way from the old lift.

Sure enough the Western Mountains of Maine got a whole lot of rain from Irene and the word is Route 27 has bridges out on both sides of the Sugarloaf Access Road. The Skyline Quad project may have to wait awhile.

Sugarloaf updated the Skyline Blog today. It seems the project is still moving forward. http://sugarloaf2020.tumblr.com/

The flooding in Vermont was more serious than either Maine or NH. Mount Snow hasn't updated their contruction blog since 8/22. http://mountsnow.com...ry/bubble-blog/
