It looks like Wachusett Mountain is planning to replace the Monadnock beginner chair with a detachable quad:

Glen Eden Ski Area, Milton Ontario is currently building a new beginners slope in preparation for adding another Magic Carpet type lift this summer (2011). The existing beginner area of the ski hill will stay where it is and continue to be used. The new beginner area will give new skiers an even more gentle sloped area to learn to ski, which is right beside the tubing park and the more advanced ski runs. Up until now, skiers moving from the beginner area to the bigger slopes had to cross a parking lot and climb a set of stairs (in ski boots). The new beginner area is right beside the rest of the ski area.

(This info came to me from talking to a Glen Eden Ski manager this weekend.)

This is unconfirmed but it appears Fernie is installing a lift to Polar Peak. Speculation is that it is the former Gold triple from Nakiska.

Not sure of the alignment or termination, but it will be a L-P HSQ.

Interesting, Burke Mountain passed on purchasing the HSQ from Ascutney.

Yes they are Putting in a NEW Poma, they passed on the CTEC at Ascutney. Was there at Burke last weekend, seem to be getting a late start. Line is cleared and that is about it.

Nice video. I recognised a few guys from Copper in there; the two projects are (sort of) sharing crews since the sites are relatively close to one another. Towers for our respective lifts should go in next week, I hear.

Beaver Mountain, Utah is replacing the Little Beaver double with a SkyTrac triple. I believe the old double was a Poma with a floating bullwheel and had a major accident last year.
