High Noon Express:

This year's new addition to Vail is going along very well. It seems to be targeted to a mid-December opening.

It looks like this is the first year ever Poma detachables don't have that corrugated sheet metal on the sides. Nice upgrade, that's a sharp looking lift

floridaskier, you really need to get out of Utah and come to Colorado sometime.
There was a smooth side installed at Winter Park in 2008.... and it's "Leitner-Poma".

Wow judging by guide rails in this photo, it looks like this will be the first lift in North America to feature the LPA grip.

I believe load test on this lift was over today.. except for a mishap by the ski area dropping a tree on the line yesterday.. it apparently ripped the catwalk off and damaged the sheave assembly as well as the rope, but sounds like it will not affect the opening as Poma is hurriedly replacing the damaged parts for them.

...and as we know, LovPow, it's Leitner-Poma.
I was there today doing some grip NDT and got to see G briefly.

It's a really nice looking lift. I like the curved sheet metal with the lift name and Vail's logo.

Did you have a third photo? That I infer based on the fact that one photo was IMG_600 and the other was IMG_602. Where's IMG_601?

It's nothing, really.

The halo looks a great deal beefier than our Omega models. Maybe if we're lucky we too will get to experience this new stuff....

No, Dino's correct. I meant maintenance rail. We've all got too many different terms for this stuff :)
