I've often wondered that myself. Seems they're always moving lifts as well, as if they hadn't bothered to actually see how the terrain would ski before they built one.

Consistent with the new logo, here's the bottom terminal of the Cabriolet, as of today:

No signs of angle station terminal pieces yet, but the towers and comline for the Orange Bubble Express lift are visible in the background. Shortest detachable lift segment in the world?

It's the resort every loves to hate! Despite all the design flaws, I think it still offers the best terrain in Park City. And with all the changes this year, Talisker is at least moving in the right direction. I would love it if they eventually open up the ridge-line terrain from 99-90 south towards the Day Break area and extend one or two more lifts up to the top (Peak 5 would be ideal). Connect it to PCMR (they're pretty close now with the Iron Mountain expansion) and/or drop a lift into Big Cottonwood Canyon and you'd have one incredible ski area.

Yikes. Is that the same copper color some of the other lifts have been painted, or is it a new color?

Hopefully it's the same as the other burnt orange lifts. It sure looks pink in the Cabriolet shot, but maybe that's just the light, or maybe they have one more coat to put on

They got a little more snow today, and hopefully this will stick. I'm a little worried about them being ready for opening day. They have some serious work to do on the gondola, and the Orange Bubble lift isn't done yet either.

Does anybody know which end of the Timberline lift this is?

I keep hearing that this is only Phase I of the Canyons Transformation....

Has Canyons released anything about the next phases? I'm curious to see what they have in store for 2011-2012. Personally, I hope they create an access point at Tombstone.

No word yet on any further transformation plans. I'd love to see them rework the layout of the Peak 5/Dreamscape side. Is it too much to ask to put a lift up to the top of the Day Break area? An easier way to get back from over there would be great too

i just don't see how they make Tombstone an access point given that it's surrounded by limited access private property in the gated "Colony" community

What about moving the existing peak 5 lift to the bottom of Tombstone and direct it north towards a skiable access point back to the base area? (i have no idea how easy/hard it is to relocate lifts- but i'm sure you guys have an idea). then install a new lift in place of the old peak 5 that goes up to the ridgeline.

i made a google map of the current layout and added a couple lift extensions- just in case they need any ideas for phase 2

Here is an easy fix, just drive another 5 minutes and ski Park City or Deer Valley. :)

Having seen that picture of Timberline lift, it sure looks like the Cabriolet is much more orange. Maybe it's just the light in that picture, but with the new logo also being orange, maybe the Cabriolet is actually orange? It would be ridiculous if the Canyons were to change its lift color scheme again. Does anyone know what colors they painted the towers on the Cabriolet? Are they cream-colored like the other copper-colored lifts?

The Cabriolet towers were green before, so they'll probably paint them too, since it's the first thing you see when you arrive. They've painted most of the other towers that were green into the cream color, like on Dreamscape. The newer lifts have galvanized towers, so they've stayed the same. The orange in the new logo (where'd you find that, Skier?) is about the same as the orange on the recently painted lifts, so they're probably painting the others into that same color to save a little money.

I hope they finished painting Day Break. Last time I was at The Canyons, they had painted the bottom terminal and the bottom few towers in the orange and cream paint, but everything else was left untouched in peeling Deer Valley green, with a faded spot where it used to say 'Quincy'. What a half-assed, useless lift.

15 days until scheduled opening day, and they're still furiously moving dirt around the gondola angle station, with no sign of the new terminal. They definitely need the gondola to open the mountain, and they'll probably want to show off Orange Bubble early on too. Orange Bubble looks to be missing a haul rope too. The picture might have been from the weekend, but can they really expect to finish in time?
