Nothing is so perfectly amusing as a total change of ideas.

From the base area at The Canyons. They've hardly done anything yet at the base area, it looks like

More from The Canyons. They have a facebook album up now with some new pictures of the Iron Mountain run cutting, snowmaking pond, new cabins, and flying concrete for the new high speed quad, which is pretty much confirmed to be called Lookout Express now. Hopefully they update this more later on

When were these pictures taken? To me, it looks like it is going up the exact same path as the old double poma chair. But MSSI have confirmed there will be two new trails cut in this area to compliment the lift. I was actually thinking of driving there to take a look at the progress today, but if all they have mostly done is the tower foundations, then I won't bother and wait another month or so. Thanks for the posting

Can I ask, can you tell if it will be top drive or bottom drive? The lift from Stratton was top drive so I would assume it would be the same here but since you were there, can you tell by the foundations at the bottom, if it was narrow or wide (to accomodate the alpha series drive)?

Thanks

I took them the first of Sept., the drive will be at the bottom. It is a new lift line, but parallels the detach they have there... they have a short double near it that they have stopped operating. All the concrete should be done end of this week I've been told.

Looking at your picture, it seems to be going the same way up the original path. But I could be wrong, it is just one picture. But thanks for the info.

Been watching the progress of a new Dopp. at Welch Village, MN, via webcam. 10" of rain upstream has caused record breaking flooding, which now is at the parking lots edge.

Yea, I don't know the ski area at all... there might have been a lift there at one time, there was not one there this summer before they started

Ok, no they had taken down the old double back in April. But yes it looks like it is the same path up. Although going from what I've heard, will go a bit farther up. In any case, an improvement since the double would run 2-3 times a year.

MSSI have posted pictures on their site. www.edelweissvalley.com
