Last I heard it was the "main lift," presumably the one that had some previous issues. I know that some of the towers and assemblies have made it down there. Pretty sure it is an Eco Lift.

Here comes the moment we've all been waiting for! All mysteries will be forever unraveled come Thursday the 19th. From The Canyons' Facebook page, with a picture:

"Are you curious yet?!?! All of your questions will be answered this Thursday, YES, 2 days away!"

The other day, they had posted: "We are going to have a MASSIVE announcement for you guys this week. I am so excited I will finally get to share! :)"

Also, they seemed to be filming a marketing video last week at the top (or midstation) of the new lift

I think the last time someone had a "MASSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT" on Facebook it had to do with season pass prices..... :wacko2:

It's not Iron Mountain, but I could be wrong.

That looks like it to me. I wish you could see further over to the right. It looks like that may be the very bottom of the Dreamcatcher area over to the right, but it's hard to tell. We'll know by tomorrow. The Iron Mountain lift line would be really obvious from the road, since it's right in front of you as you go past the entrance to The Canyons on highway 224 towards Park City

Peter, where'd you find that picture on flickr? Any other ones on there that might give us a better clue?

Haha, I was assuming it was Iron Mountain, California, which is a lost ski area on semi-private property.

The reason I'm confident that it's Iron Mountain is because you can see the Timberline drive terminal in the same axis as the new lift line. There were more angles on Flickr, I'll find them in a bit.

The whole set is here: http://www.flickr.co...ith/4899873457/

There are a whole bunch of angles, all of which appear to be taken from the gondola.

I can't wait to see the mid-station terminal. I'm interested in seeing what a UNI-GS mid-station with a line turn will look like.

Has anyone seen or heard anything from Vail yet regarding the installation of the High noon express. I remember reading that it was supposed to be one of the new model Leitner Poma detachables. I am anxious to see how it is going to look.

That is a lot to accomplish before Thanksgiving. Is the gondola still open for Summer tourism?? Have they started on the concrete work for the new gondola terminal and relocated towers? Seems like a lot to do in a short time. It will be a very nice improvement when it is all done. Finally there will actually be a justified reason for the ticket price increase. Might have to check it out!

Here is a picture from a few weeks ago. Doesn't look like there are any new footings.

That was in line with the rest of the lift, they just had to move it forward a hundred yards or so, and only the bottom two towers got moved. You wouldn't be able to see any of the new tower footings in that picture, they'd be way over to the right. The last day of summer ops for the gondola is next Sunday, August 29, so I'd imagine they would start right after that to make room for Golden Eagle.

Are those Golden Eagle parts in the open area to the left of the gondola base in that picture?

Rope is on the Black Mountain Express at A-Basin, and towers were flown for Vail's chair 5 Thursday.

Can anybody tell me, did the old exhibition YAN at A-Basin have a Kissling box or a 475? And what happened to the drive terminal?
Thanks Peter
