Mount Snow Resort Lift Replacements
Replacement of two chair lifts in the same alignments. New lifts would replace older, slower fixed grip lifts with higher capacity and higher speed detachable grip lifts. Some excavation needed for new lift terminals and towers.

"It is lifts #17 & 19. We are also hopeful that it will be 2011. Keep in mind that permitting and financing are big factors. But it feels good to get the ball rolling."
#17 is the Summit Local Triple, a little over 7000 feet in length. #19 is the Sunbrook Quad, I think it's maybe around 4500.

Revelstoke, March 26, 2010 – Revelstoke Mountain Resort, B.C’s newest four-season resort, has completed its financial recapitalization and is now planning its next phase of growth.
“Revelstoke Mountain Resort’s recapitalization is now complete,” states Tom Gaglardi, president of Northland Properties, the majority equity owner of the resort.
Northland Properties has paid off more than $100 million in debt incurred by the original resort developer in 2007-2008. “The costs to develop the resort to its present state are approximately $200 million,” says Northland’s Tom Gaglardi. “All of the debt we inherited has been retired, and we are now planning for further growth.”
Those objectives include a construction start on the resort’s golf course within 12 months, with play by 2013. Planning for a new ski lift has begun, with service expected not later than the opening of the 2011 season.
The resort expects to add a new wine bar in the village for the 2010 season.
Real estate sales at Nelsen Lodge are strong, with 11 condos selling at prices ranging from $339,000 to nearly $900,000 in recent months. The second phase of Nelsen Lodge will be substantially complete within the next 60 days, and construction on the third and final phase of Nelsen Lodge is in full swing. A new on-mountain restaurant, Rockford Wok | Bar | Grill, opened this winter to rave reviews.

Devil's Glen Ski Club in Glen Huron Ontario Canada
"current Devil’s Glen lift infrastructure
replacement and relocation plan ... This first step involves the purchase of
a new Quad Chair, the retirement of 2 lifts (Hades Double
Chair and Hallelujah T-bar) and the relocation of one lift
(Lucifer’s) to the Revi/Sal area. Planning and Approvals will start
this summer, for construction in the Summer of 2013.
The new quad mentioned will replace the Lucifer's Lift, a 1990 Borvig Fixed grip quad (150HP, 1604 ft long, 492 vert, 2400 persons per hour). The lifts to be removed are the Hades Double and the Hallelujah T-bar. Hades is a 1969 Hall double chair (1440 length, 455 vert). The Hallelujah T-bar was put in about the same time as the Hades chair. The 1990 Borvig Quad will be relocated to the terrain currently served by the Hallelujah t-bar.

Last I heard is that Boulder Country did not want them having a HS lift... Did that change? If I remember right they did not hs lifts there becasue the road up to the area could not handle the traffic?
But then again this info could be wrong. I forgot where I heard this. It's been awhile.

I had hear both of these thoughts previously as well. What I know for sure is that Eldora updated their master plan with several new items over the past year, most notably:
- a FGQ to replace the Little Hawk FGD
- a surface conveyor (or two) to replace the Tenderfoot I & II Handle Tows
- a HSS to replace Challenge/Cannonball
- some sort of lift from the base of Challenge/Cannonball running just to the west to the low saddle on Four o' Clock Trail, providing access to the backside in the event of the "breezy" conditions Eldora is so known for
- some sort of lift starting near or maybe just to the west of the town of Eldora, and running up to near the top of the Indian Peaks lift. Presumably a couple new trails would be cut for this lift as well.
As far as I know, the HSS is the most likely of these new upgrades to be installed soon, hopefully during the summer of '11. Eldora's website (http://www.eldora.com) has a little blurb saying that they're submitting their new master plan to the Forest Service for approval this month, so we'll see where that gets us.

It's been a while...I'm not entirely sure when the last one was installed. I've only been working there for a couple years, so any previous installs were before me. I think that the Corona FGQ and Indian Peaks FGQ were the last lifts to get installed, though I'm not positive.

Corona in 1998
Most of us on this forum probably do not need to ride it much since it serves beginner runs but "EZ" (Riblet FGT) was installed in 2000 and apparently was not a recylce.
The new lifts will be nice. A HSS running the Challenge/ Cannonball line and another chair accessing the IP and Corona lifts will put quite a few people on the hill but maybe there are enough trails to support it. I like the idea of the lift near the town of Eldora. Exciting times for the area indeed!

Absolutely. Everyone at the ski area is thrilled about the possibility of the HSS, though I'd say that all of us in ski school are equally thrilled about the carpet(s) replacing the handle tows... Bringing a group of four-year-olds up those handle tows is an exercise in futility. :-P
The last I heard was that the town of Eldora was strongly opposed to a lift coming up from there, so I don't know how that will turn out. But as I mentioned before, it's looking very good for the HSS to be installed though, hopefully in 2011. :-) In terms of slope crowding, the IP and Corona lifts rarely run full, even on busy weekends, so I doubt slope crowding would be an issue, especially with having another trail or two being cut over there/

The Riblet installed in 2000 was new.

Could use old Challenge (FGT) to replace Little Hawk and have a nicer lift than what is there now. The current Little Hawk looks like it was once a T-Bar changed to double chair, does anyone know if that is true? I noticed the entire line must be roped off due to the clearance. Are they planning on reusing any of the lifts planned to be removed or is that part of the plan still not decided?
