Probably should be under a new topic of Possible New Lifts for 2011, but I spoke with one of the lift mechanics at Squaw Valley and Siberia Express will be replaced with a Dopplemayr Six Pack during Summer 2011. The lift will have the same alignment as the current chair.

Any word on whether Revelstoke will continue to build out their master plan this summer?

I have heard they are looking at a lift to increase Beg./Int. terrain but want to do the install themselves...
Nothing is so perfectly amusing as a total change of ideas.

Also, Doppelmayr CTEC will be installing a double this summer on the Cannon Mountain's new Mittersill slopes.

The gondola for Crystal Mountain is official. They'll start construction April 19 and have it ready for the 2010/2011 season.

Not lift-related, but they are installing a terrain park too.

Do you have a source for this? Its definitely in the works but I hadn't heard it was happening this year.

On Cannon's website it says: "We plan to have the new Mittersill Double Chair installed and operational by mid-late December 2010."

The Exhibition chair at Osler Bluff, Ontario is for sale and slated for removal in May 2010 on Summit Lift Co's website. Presumably it will be replaced by a Doppelmayr CTEC quad.

Loon had a chair and sign up during the 08/09 season saying new chairlift next year but it never appeared. Supposedly will be largely real estate access on South Peak. Maybe this summer?

From Vail Resort's 2nd Quarter results, released today: "Discretionary expenditures for calendar year 2010 are expected to include a new high speed chairlift to serve Vail mountain's back bowls; a new on-mountain restaurant at Heavenly; a new coaster slide at Breckenridge; expansion of Vail mountain's adventure ridge; Keystone Lodge guest room renovation and new marketing campaign management software, among other projects."

Which of the 2 approved Back Bowls lifts will this be? If I had to guess I would say Sun Down over High Noon.

Well, we are closer than we have ever been at Snow Valley, CA. It looks pretty good to replace lift #1 (yan double) with a Dopplemayer 6. Should be confirmed in the next couple weeks and would be for this summer with a opening date of Dec 1, 2010.

High Noon for sure. There was a lot more opposition to the Sun Down chair than a Chair 5 upgrade, and it needs the upgrade anyway.

Negotiations are in the works for a second Tramway at Snowbird a 45 passenger two cabin jigback from HIdden Peak to top of the East Twin. Although this will not happen this summer it is beginning to look like something real.

New Leitner-Poma 6-pack for Hunter NY next year. Along with a new quad the year after on the West side, may be the refurbished quad from the front. It's had some breakdown troubles in recent years.
