Sure is. When they built the VX they forgot about it and had to add another tower. (9a)

While looking for hiking trails in Aspen, I stumbled across a members profile on YouTube who has shot several 'on-ride' experience videos of what it's like to ride the lifts at Copper Mountain and the Aspen Resorts.

WARNING: You may end up wasting several minutes/hours of your life as you virtually ride all of the lifts he has recorded.

Here is a cool 360 degree time lapse of riding up the Silver Queen Gondola at Aspen: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=KdYf62ZP_TY

 What it's like to ride a chairlift at Copper:
You get on at the bottom. You go up. You get off at the top. If you're lucky and it's not a beginner lift, you get an uninterrupted ride. Repeat at any ski area in the nation. This guy obviously has too much time on his hands.

Snowzoomcom also has videos of three of the high speed quads at Vail, plus the high speed quads at Grouse Mountain, Vancouver.

Interesting use of the transfer tow at Alta.... Note I did not take this picture, nor do I endorse the activities depicted.

"Park rats" and surface lifts don't go well together. On the last day me and another mechanic spent almost an hour trying to control the idiots on the T-Bar. Things like four full grown people on one T, people way out of the track, etc...

That may be, but that doesn't give licence to act in a stupid and dangerous way. I deal with park rats on a regular basis as the Flyer serves four different ones, and the same attitude exists here. Last week some kids thought it would be neat to throw their poles off the lift immediately before unloading, and nearly hit some people who were waiting underneath.

I am still surprised that the new owners of red have not considered replacing that T bar with a chairlift yet. It would fix all of these issues you constantly seem to be dealing with.

I agree. As frustrating as it may be, these guys represent a large percentage of the future "responsible skiers". They are just kids doing kid things. They love the sport, and are going to continue to support the industry, someday they will have families, and will be renting out condo's, and buying family passes and tickets. Its just one of those things that we have to take in stride.... the good with the bad!

F-ing punks! lol.

I have a hard time "taking it in stride" when they trash our gondola cabins! Buffing chicken scratch scrawled into cabin windows sucks, and they take a lot of time. I don't mind if "the future of the industry" has a good time, but they don't have to act like idiots, or destroy property while doing it.

Vandalism is NOT acceptable as "just kids doing kid things".
When they "tag" the side of your car, you might agree.

What?? Are you serious?? When did I say that vandalism is ok? I am not endorsing vandalism, or graffiti. All I was saying is that kids are going to screw around, and its something that we just have to deal with....... wow

I can't believe that the moron put his name on it. If it was my lift, I'd charge him with trespass, and he would not be skiing there ever again !
