Hey Eric, did you know this site has a picture gallery? It's on the front page of the nw-skilifts.com site, and is located on the left and it goes by states. Then theres Canada.nw-skilifts.com. Here you can find other canadian resort pictures like Whistler Blackcomb and Red Mountain. So theres a lot of pictures of Yan lifts in there. :)

Have fun. :)

Now that's a classic Yan Black Box if I've ever seen one. I wonder how many of those he built? There's about a dozen in my neck of the woods alone, including two at Copper.
The fixed-grip Yancake, on the other hand, is a new one to me. That looks , well, interesting, not least because it's painted such a garish colour...

Now that you mention it, that blue on the FG Yancake does look a little too bright.

Yeah it's not a very nice colour, dark blue would have been better :) I like the way the YanBoxes look painted all black like at A-Basin. That blue colour on our is from Blackcomb.

Which lift was yours when it was at Blackcomb, Allan? It would be odd if I had ridden it in an earlier incarnation. :D

We have the Stoker (Silverlode) and Cruiser (Motherlode).

I guess I haven't ridden your lift, then. The first time I went to Blackcomb they had just torn those out and all that was left was the Catskinner. Blackcomb must have spent a lot of money with a certain Carson City lift manufacturer in 1980... I think they opened with five Yans?

Yep. Oddly, they haven't removed Catskinner, probably because it serves the terrain park. As well, I think the Crystal chair is a Yan.

there are curently three Yan Chairlifts @ Blackcomb. Magic, Catskinner and Crystal. There is only one on Whistler, olympic.

DV's has a whole bunch of Yanboxes, and one of the FG yancakes. The Viking triple, 5 towers, 30 chairs, has it. It was DV's last original Yan lift. Now they have 6 yanboxes, the Yancake FG, and one rounded-end Yanbox that looks a lot nicer than the rest of them.

the yan boxes are too common here in california. Almost all top drives here have them

True, a large number of them come to mind, but then again, the other design is still used in (perhaps slightly) greater proportion over the yanboxes.

yes, but they still are common.

The box bottom drive are so common. Id say at least 75% of the yans here are bottom box drive
