Skied Winter Park today, the snow and open terrain were not too exciting, unfortunately I was 1 day early (Marry Jane opens tomorrow 12/9) so i took the new village cabriolet. It is a short ride & it puts you at the end of the new village shops. I'll keep parking at MJ, but it is a cool lift.

I was planning on getting out and doing some skiing today and getting pics of the new Sheer Bliss, however since i'm feeling shitty I decided not to go skiing.

So sometime next week I'll grab some images of her.

What are those rings around the bottom of the towers? Is that top stop people from climbing up?

I hope they're not gonna let people ride the zip-line while the lift is running ?

I'm pretty sure the zip line will run over it all winter, in addition to the 2 levels of mountain coaster on the bridge below.

Do people ride the zip-line & coaster in the winter ? I don't think so since usually they're accessed by the midstation which is only used in the summer ? You probably know more than me since you're an admin ?

The coaster was running yesterday and does run all winter since it starts at the base. You are correct that the zip is accessed via the mid station, and I have never seen it run in the winter months.

You guys are right, it's just the coaster that runs in the winter at PCMR. Some of the ZipRiders do run in the winter, like the one at Heavenly.

Looks like a beautiful lift. Very nice pictures. I have two questions about this. Why are some of the towers painted black and others painted white? And will the Ski Team lift run this winter with the detach in place?

I believe it has to do with the sun which can actually cause dark towers to warp and bend over time because dark towers are affected by heat much more. Many black towers at places like Snowbird and Alta have white canvass covers to prevent this. I think the reason why they are not all white is because skiers have a much harder time seeing white towers. At Northstar-at-Tahoe, the new Martis Camp Express has towers that are white on the downhill half and black on the uphill half.
