Lucky. While Loveland and A-Basin still (meagerly) have snow to operate with, the futures for the big resorts set to open in the next week or two are pretty bad. Still absolutely no natural snow on the ground and highs in the 50s and 60s for the rest of the week.

Really, Copper and Keystone are looking good. Of course, the Vail Valley is barren, but it's lower.

We're both still on track for Friday the 7th. It looks like it'll be all manmade though- I just came down the hill from the top of the Flyer and the road is basically bare.

I'm watching the Dolphins and Broncos in Denver and they said it was in the 70s and sunny in town. Sounds like it's about the same in Park City

Park City race team left Copper today. I was jealous that they get to ski Copper and we can't yet.

Anyway, a couple inches over night and all should be good for top to bottom skiing on Friday for the public.

Earlier for the race teams.  :ninja:

Ahh yes .... Snow.... The necessary evil ingredient that makes all of this possible. I just hate to see the summer and fall go away so quickly. Just give me some time to get used to snow falling and wheels turning.
"Maybe there is no Heaven. Or maybe this is all pure gibberish—a product of the demented imagination of a lazy drunken hillbilly with a heart full of hate who has found a way to live out where the real winds blow—to sleep late, have fun, get wild, drink whisky, and drive fast on empty streets with nothing in mind except falling in love and not getting arrested . . . Res ipsa loquitur (it speaks for it self). Let the good times roll." HT

Yes however Aspen Snowmass wont be opening early... Well Aspen Mountain may but Snowmass will not. Unless it's a epic snowfall.

Ski resorts welcome cold weather
November 6th, 2008 @ 6:21am
By Marc Giauque
What a difference one storm will make. This week's winter weather left more than three feet of snow in some mountain areas. Ski resorts are especially happy to have the cold weather.

At Brighton Ski Resort, the snow-making machines are finally working. Last week, people were walking around in shirt sleeves.

"We went from driving around the mountain in four-wheelers to getting the snowmobiles stuck the other day," said lift supervisor Dave Farmer.

He and others are now working to get Brighton open next week. Snowbird will open this weekend. It happens amid claims the ski industry is facing increasing competition from cruise lines.

"Always wanted to take a cruise, but I've never been able to take one," Farmer said. But he says he skis every winter.
