Snow in the forecast for the U.P. this weekend. Hopefully it will be like the 2 feet we got on October 16th at Gogebic a few years ago.

.STRONG WINDS AND SIGNIFICANT SNOW POSSIBLE ON SUNDAY INTO MONDAY
MAINLY OVER NORTHWEST UPPER MICHIGAN...

A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL CROSS UPPER MICHIGAN ON SATURDAY NIGHT...
USHERING A CHILLY CANADIAN AIRMASS INTO THE GREAT LAKES. EXPECT
NORTHWEST WINDS IN THE WAKE OF THIS FRONT TO GUST AS HIGH AS 45
MPH OVER PORTIONS OF UPPER MICHIGAN...ESPECIALLY THE KEWEENAW
PENINSULA ON SUNDAY.

AS THE COLDER AIR RUSHES IN BEHIND THE FRONT OVER THE RELATIVELY
WARM WATERS OF LAKE SUPERIOR...LAKE EFFECT RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS
WILL DEVELOP SATURDAY NIGHT AND PERSIST THROUGH MONDAY. THE
SHOWERS WILL BE MOST NUMEROUS IN THE NORTHWEST WIND SNOW BELTS OF
WESTERN UPPER MICHIGAN AND EAST OF MARQUETTE. PLAN ON THE BEST
CHANCE OF A SIGNIFICANT PLOWABLE LAKE EFFECT SNOW LATE SUNDAY
INTO MONDAY OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF INTERIOR WESTERN UPPER
MICHIGAN FROM PELKIE TO WATTON...BRUCE CROSSING...PAINT LAKE AND
MARENISCO.

POTENTIAL EARLY WINTER STORM.

They had flurries in Port Huron yesterday. The wind was coming out of the NE and cause a funky lake effect.

Tomorrow, it might actually snow here.

Flurries in southern Wisconsin on and off for the last 24 hours. Pellets but it is cooling enough that they cling to the grass for a minute instead of melting instantly.

Snow yesterday here. Nothing even showed, just wet pavement. But it really snowed, and the ground is still warm.

My daughter went up to Brighton last week and I asked her if any snow up there...she said no. Last week and this week, the weather is warm like 70 temperture most times. I don't wear light coat or warm coat during day. At nights, the temperture is like 35 to 40. I still wait for any snowstorm is coming...When???

I'm surprised Wild Mtn can open. It's nowhere near the temps needed to keep snow during the day. They must be busy every night.

They must be trying to beat out Ski Brule for first midwest area to open.

Cataloochee in NC opened today with two beginner runs and one lift. Unfortunately they can't claim that they are the first to open in the East as Mount Snow has been open (and closed) on a beginner slope converted snowboard park for about a week now. It's a bit of a fine line as to whom can really claim it as Mount Snow's terrain currently isn't open now, and it wasn't lift serviced. Either way I have a feeling that we may be skiing somewhere here in the East maybe on Halloween.

Lucky. While Loveland and A-Basin still (meagerly) have snow to operate with, the futures for the big resorts set to open in the next week or two are pretty bad. Still absolutely no natural snow on the ground and highs in the 50s and 60s for the rest of the week.

We've got a few snowflakes left lying around the mountain - but a temperature inversion has developed and it's around -2 © at the base and +7 at the top... and that's at night! It gets as high as +10 in the days at the top and bottom.

It really is!! It could stay this way until middle-end of November, and I wouldn't get mad! Then get the snow we need all at once.

Skied it this PM and conditions were decent considering the time of year. It was suprisingly busy, and everyone was on one hill

Regarding keeping the snow during the Day... I think they will be OK, the sun is pretty low this time of year and that run faces somewhat NorthEast so it will be pretty shadowed by the time the temps get warm enough to do any damage.
