that is the standard uni-g interesting color sceme with the fiberglass cowlings, gutters and trim panals done in the dark color and the rest in a wood tone. I think boath this design and the new scrunced looking terminal ends are offered, I have yet to see a french style wood skin termial built in NA.

I see, it looks like the space needed for two docks would be wider than the loading area. Neat design, I can't wait to see it in action.

In the 40 years since the original tram was built, the real estate around the bottom terminal has been eaten up, there was no way to get wider cars into the same space, hence the moving bottom dock design. The top dock is full width, though it's got hydraulic gates that lower to "lock" the car in place once it docks at the top.
The below photo shows the hand crank for the bottom dock...it's surprisingly easy to crank, hope we don't have to do it too often!

Hey Cameron, the top terminal has space for both cars to have their own dock.

JH Tram top terminal. Decking is mostly installed as of this past friday. Final track rope should be up now. Haul rope in the next couple weeks.
I think the line sheaves are 650's. They're huge. And heavy.Attached File  TramTopDock.JPG (1.53MB)

Oh yeah, our terminal sheaves are 550's...your line sheaves are 100mm bigger than those. I've only been on vacation for a week too, hope I don't forget too much more in the next two!

Does anyone know who the Dopp project manager is at Keystone?

It is Arron Bauer, and the top drive has the elect. motor and stand-by diesel and gearbox in a vault drive, but the evac. motor and brake pump motor are up in the terminal.

Do you know kind of cabin that is? It is not CWA , I think?

I believe the Tremblant and Texas gondolas were originally used for a lift used for sight seeing at a European horticultural exhibition. That lift, although temporary, was used at two locations over a fews years and it had a triangular lift line with three terminals.

Yikes!! I thought they might go dark green like many of their other Doppelmayr lifts... That, in my opinion would have been a better choice.

Yeah, the white is tolerable, if not bland and kind-of bright against the trees, but the orange! It'd be one thing if it were copper (like the metallic color that Copper uses), but that's downright orange. BAD choice, IMHO.

My only hope for Keystone is that the end ships orange from Europe and that they'll paint it later like the entry funnels of some lifts. The new ends are ugly enough already

I find it funny that everyone is complaining about the looks of the new river run gondola. It may not be the best looking uni-g, but at least it isn't a uni-gs. Plus it will be nice to ride it and not worry about it breaking down like the last one. It is just too bad I won't be there this year to ride it.

Why? Don't you like the UNI-GS? In think this system ist only for 4-CLD and 6-CLD?

They should build the UNI-GS in Switzerland. I can't see the UNI-G any more....

I don't think the uni-gs is that bad, I just like the looks of the uni-g better. Plus I think it is neat that there is a new style of uni-g in the states with the install of this gondola.

The UNI-GS is very bulky and is not very athestically pleasing like the UNI-G, which is very sleek.

Anyway, we probably need to get back on topic soon.
