"Well as we all know, Vail Resorts likes to exaggerate. I think they added a few inches to that. They may have done the wind build area though."

"I meant it was not true natural snow. The snow that they measured was from wind."

You know Lift Kid - for a thirteen-year-old, stranded in the wilds of Twin Falls, MN - with little more to occupy himself than watching Ricky Davis leading the Bucks to basketball victories - you seem to lay claim to a lot of sage knowledge. If you expect to become a lift engineer, you'd better sharpen your ability to separate fact from fiction. Right now - as a troubleshooter - you'd score a zero.

Well...
Twin Falls; Man, you're just tryin' to make us look bad.
Basketball? Hate it.
For a previous engineer, you don't seem to have a lot of knowledge.

There are no "previous engineers" in the natural world.

All right, this topic is done. Expired. Lets start a new one, like, "Winter is here," or "Who got snow?"

Grease doesn’t “spray” from towers; you may get a glob but no spray.

You beat me to the punch, I was about to say the same thing. I have a feeling it was rope lube mixed with wet snow.

I think Callao's right. Winter is here, at least for some parts of the country (sorry Upper Midwest and New England...)

Thunder, lightning, hail... no snow yet. The Denver news stations are all in an uproar about the possibility of snow up here. National Weather Service lists the snow level at 10,000'. My house sits at 10,300' and so far it's stayed about 45 F. I sincerely hope it stays at least moderately warm (like, 50 F?) through tomorrow night as I've got sweep duty for the steepest, most exposed part of the Leadville Trail 100 footrace starting at 6 PM.

Yes, it's too early to think about snow. Skiers aren't supposed to get "horny for snow" until September.
So have a nice glass of lemonade, and soak up some rays. After all, we have just barely come off the year's hottest days!

I don't know I've gotten 3 ski mags already and I just got a new jacket, pants and helmet and I want to ski so when I saw the possibility of snow in the rockies I got all hot and bothered!

Yes! Fresh (but soggy) snow at Whistler. A couple centimeters at the Roundhouse and a little bit more at the top. Just a light dusting at Rendezvous. Winter is coming more quickly than I remember last year.

"Winter is coming more quickly than I remember last year."

You really know how to put a damper on a guy's summer, don't you.

Soon, I'll miss sitting on my front porch - naked - at midnight - having a smoke.
