Although, we are in the process of lowering it here.

What are you guys doing?? Just checking bearings or replacing them? Planetary/Reducers? Are you guys checking all your BW bearings after the incident this season? Looks like fun!

That's why we're doing it! We're doing every return except the new lift!

We are replacing the bushings, bullwheel liner, and gearbox seal. It's been a fun project, but Mountain Ops has been beginning to complain that we are using their excavator too long:

We'll hopefully be doing that to the Eagle this fall, not set in stone yet but more than likely.

And it won't be 20 below, either

Jonni- you have worn bushings in that coupling or just replacing them since it's on the ground?

Sorry I haven't been on in a while, but we are replacing the bushings due to being worn (as well as a bit of a funny noise that they were making toward the end of the season). We talked with the guys from POMA and they suggested it was the bushing, so we felt as a way to kill two birds with one stone, the cable needed to be respliced anyway, so we did both. After about 6 weeks and one failed attempt at putting it back on due to the shaft heating up too fast, the bullwheel is back in place and the cable is back on it.

Looks like it is time for some new paint on the towers. Hows the weather been up there?

Weather's been awesome the past month or so - a little thundery the last couple of days. The paint on this lift is pretty good; the rust spots you see will be touched up - they're mostly from the snowboarders.

Very nice! Man I miss it up there. Maybe next summer I can take a vacation in that neck of the woods. Is that the lift which is getting replaced next year?

On startup she kind of hesitated, then snapped into action. The bearings looked pretty good, I think it may have been water getting in and freezing up overnight. Aw well, bearings are cheap, cranes are not.

I know it is really off topic, but I really like those Leitner terminals. They look very cool, and I also really think the rocks on the concrete supports look good.

I agree with both statements, but i would think the upkeep on veneer stone would be high on a structure that receives live loads like a chairlift support. Yes yes i know :offtopic:

Another lift rigged down... and another bullwheel in the shop! There's so much ribbon on the rigging as it crosses a road, there's lots of dirtbikers and drunken shenanigans.

Now if we could only get the shaft out of the carriage. Liner is new in 05 - but the rope seems to be riding a bit low, so we're going to set the guide sheaves up with our new digital level!
