My first thought of the assemblies was just their sheer size. I always thought that sheaves were just little wheels and that catwalks were impossible to walk on unless you're a gymnast. Man was I wrong!
One of the first things I learned in lift maintenance was the fact that everything is larger and heavier than it looks!!

I find if you look at it, estimate the weight, then double it and add half again, it'll be pretty close. This equation seems to work quite well for pricing as well.

Not quite. If you notice the black plastic block there, you'll see that it has a hole in the centre where the sensor will go once the lift is (mostly) finished. That way they don't get damaged in transit, either on the road or in the air.
Nice photos.
Nice photos.
Thanks. Yes, you're right. I just noticed that there's nothing connected to that wire.

New pictures of cutting the line are up for PCMR's new Crescent HSQ on the blog. They seem to be behind other resorts on starting this lift. Can't wait to see it

Also some pics of the relocation of Indy at Breck.

I was wondering if are they planning on keeping it a 90 degree entrance, or will it be normal since there will be plenty of traffic coming from the gondola and the new condo complexes, and there is obviously plenty of room.

I think its gonna remain 90, but it will probably have two entrances into the line. One from behind the lift, one on the slope side.

Lift Kid, do you and your family have a condo out there? I thought you said you did, but I forgot. If so, where. You're lucky to be able to be there so much...

Yea, we actually have a house out here. Its a family house used between a few of my relatives, but we get to use it a lot. Right across the street from the Peak 9-10 area at Breck. We have owned property out here since the 70's though, back when the roads were dirt. It is really nice to be able to come out here a lot!

Yea, that would be amazing. I really would like to invest in some real estate out in CO maybe in Summit County or up in Routt by Steamboat once I graduate from college, and hopefully the market will be better then (well, actually, NOW is a buyer's market, but probably not in a plush resort town)

Unless you're a multi-millionaire there's never a buyer's market in a ski town
