Tower 1 is going up on Blackcomb. The cable for Emerald Express is on the ground, presumably to accomodate P2P constructon. Also, the crossarm and lifting frame of a tower have been removed.

Here is the new Mountaineer Skyride at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. It is a Doppelmayr quad that is 1100 feet long and it just opened.

Is it a flat lift or does it have any vertical rise?

Go to www.tramformation.com to see a picture of one of our new tram cars. There is also a cool trailer for the video that will come out next year documenting the construction.

I just read that Bear Creek, PA is getting a new fixed grip quad this summer. I went to there website and looked at their camera, and the lift is just about to be spliced!

that's funny that bear creek is getting a quad. i learned to ski there, it wasn't too far from where i grew up.

This is actually Bear Creek's 2nd quad. I assume when you learned there it was Doe Mountain.

More Keystone Construction Pics!!

The tower heads and assemblies have arrived!! It looks like there will be 32 towers with 2 compression towers (probably bottom and mid stations) and a good number of combination towers. Also there are quite a few parts in the gated lot for the bottom station.

My first thought of the assemblies was just their sheer size. I always thought that sheaves were just little wheels and that catwalks were impossible to walk on unless you're a gymnast. Man was I wrong!

those are work platforms so the crew can catch and bolt the tower sections together they are removed after installation

Not quite. If you notice the black plastic block there, you'll see that it has a hole in the centre where the sensor will go once the lift is (mostly) finished. That way they don't get damaged in transit, either on the road or in the air.
