Also, 2 fixed at Grouse ( small guys) and 1 fixed at Lake Louise.. L-P

Where are these two lifts going to be?

I assume one chair will replace Blueberry Double, and have no idea where the other will be.

Lake Louise - One of the new chairs must be to provide lift service to either Richardson Ridge or Wolverine Ridge, for which (and don't quote me) they have already received Parks Canada approval to expand onto as part of their master plan. In fact a European website: www.skiresort.de has Louse pegged for two new chairs this year. Nothing on the Lake Louise or RCR website to corroborate any of this as of yet....

Update: Just checked the L-P website and it looks like they're replacing the Ptarmigan FG Quad (Yan) with yet another FG quad , albeit a new one. This seems like a dumb idea because this really isn't going to alleviate one of the worst areas of congestion on the whole mountain.

Two readings for Kadenwood gondola OKed
WB's Creekside tram would be first of its kind in Canada

Whistler Blackcomb (WB) officials are moving forward with plans to build a dedicated gondola for the Kadenwood neighbourhood, with hopes to build the gondola this summer.

In addition to providing lift access from Kadenwood to the Creekside base for residents of that neighbourhood, a new Whistler Kids training area could be established at the top of the new lift, said Doug Forseth, senior vice president of WB.

Council voted at Tuesday’s (May 20) regular meeting to give the first two readings to a zoning amendment that will allow gondola towers to be constructed in the municipality’s Big Timber Park near the Creekside base of Whistler Mountain. A public hearing on the zoning amendment is to be scheduled for June 16.

The amendment is meant to correct an oversight in the park’s zoning to allow for a ski lift right of way, said Martin Pardoe, manager of resort parks planning for the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW). The gondola right of way was established before the area was designated as a park, he said.

WB granted the parkland to the RMOW several years ago and the gondola right of way was “inadvertently” left off the paperwork, Forseth said.

The lift is primarily for the use of Kadenwood residents, but if terrain for Whistler Kids is constructed, the gondola will be available for mountain guests, he said. The gondola will be constructed alongside the Peak to Creek run. According to the WB website, Kadenwood will be Canada’s first and only resort neighbourhood to have its own dedicated gondola service.

It's not by Bonanza, it's where the current Silver Fir is now, unless they changed it. Any news if it's going in this year or not?

Indeed they did. It's called Revelation, and if you look back a couple of pages, I think you'll find it.

Indeed. I fear, however, that it will have a similar effect that the Imperial Express had at Breck....

I think he's implying there were crowds up there where there weren't before; the hike winnowed the hordes down quite a bit.

Someone from L-Poma might have the answer, from the rumor mill they are supplying the lift .. I hear it is going in this year and the ski area is doing tower foundations / line work.

L-P says on their blog that Snoqualmie is waiting for a permit while Snoqualmie says they are waiting to secure a lift from L-P.
