I wouldn't worry too much about ski_lift_modeler, he has been MIA since July 07.

No problem Bill; unfortunately ski_lift_modeler had not posted anything in the last months cause the origin model lift builder Christian (who watches the forum too after having been informed by me) and i would be very very curious about his arguments....Posted Image

As far as i can see the preview pictures this are lifts from the german manufacturer BRAWA:

http://www.brawa.de/...Funiculars.html

These cableways are made in HO and N - scale; as far as i know the products are listed and sold by Walthers model railway shop in the USA too.

If you are able to post more screenshots here i could exactly answer your question; my computer unfortunately is too old to view the youtube stuff (cannot install the neccessary newer version of the flashplayer)....

For example Christian´s Girak and my lifts too are much larger in scale ~ 1:28 so they would fit a garden railway´s scale.

LGB also makes a cable car for G scale and is sold at most hobby shops that supply trains.

The youtube clip was from an Australian site that also advertised a remote controlled SnowCat, has anyone ever seen or bought one ? I believe Snow-Stuff said they were made in Norway ? Anyways if you have any info about R/C snow cats please share

I have seen a few R/C sno cats and they look like a blast, both on and off the snow. They are great on sand dunes although the sand gets in the gears a stuff.

Lol, I bought that chairlift model when I was in Europe about 6-7 years ago. I found it on sale, it is a nice model, but the motor is extremely noisy. (I guess it simulates a diesel engine!) It seems to be quite expensive generally unless you find it for a good price. It only comes with like 6 chairs though.

If a diesel engine would make that kind of noise you better hurry to call the scrap dealer....
Own one Brawa - lift too and exchanged the origin Buehler motor to a bit bigger Mabuchi type. But it´s not only the motor, the gearing itselves makes much noise so i have removed the grease and filled it with a mixture of special loctite adhesion grease type 8012 and a bit adhesion chain oil until i got a consistancy similar to thick honey. Since that the lift runs much more quietly than before....

The LGB cableway is very nice but unfortunately has no two rope system, an italian guy had changed that as you can see on the attached picture. LGB had fabricated a new modern cabin type before unfortunately going bankrupt too.

In the next weeks i have to build a LGB - type cableway for a guy in Cologne /Germany with a two rope system based on the newer cabin type; will post some pictures here later when i will have the time to start the project. Have done the tower for that cableway two years ago but based on an accident the customer is not able to complete the ropeway by himselves so i have to do the rest too......
You can see two pictures of the segmented galvanized steel tower too.

Have uploaded a short videoclip showing one cabin passing force21´s station, later the cableway has been rebuilt once more cause force21 exchanges most of the wooden parts. The video hab been filmed before the rebuilding but shows the perfect function too.

http://members.aon.a...tionsumlauf.3gp

Please download this video cause it would be uploaded only for a short time. hope you will have some fun while viewing it.
