When you downloaded Clipper, you unloaded at a midstation at the top of the mountain, off to the left of Success and skied down the rest of the way. Now that it's a detachable, you have to ride all the way to the bottom. But yes it does download

The Coire Na Ciste Chairlift on CairnGorm (Scotland) is ski on ski off in both the up and down direction, but sadly this lift has only been used to transport goods in the past couple of years. The lift company says the chairlifts are obsolete and this lift hasn't been maintained for years.

The base station is at 1800ft and the main winter snow level is regarded as being 2100ft so it was designed this way with dendex dry slope matting on the off ramps so it could be used as a ski on/off lift in both directions regardless of snow cover.

The Photo is looking up from the downline off ramp, taken on 16th April this year. The lift is a GMD Mueller double installed in 1974, the carriers are Poma double chairs new as off 1998. The lift has not carried public since March 2002 and the operating company is on record as stating that these lifts wont run again for public use as long as they are on the mountain!

GMM actually. They're both French companies, and I think Poma owns GMM now.

Do you have any more pictures of Scottish lifts?

Even though this thread hasn't been responded to in 10 months, I'd like to say that Vail does allow downloading of the Cascade Village fixed grip quad for those not wanting to take the catwalk.
