Ok, the mystery of this one has been solved: http://www.madriverlifts.com/mm5/merchant....;Category_Code=

It is the Thompson chair at the Anchorage Ski Club's Alpenglow at Arctic Village Ski Area. The lift was installed in 1968, but was taken out of service in 1996 due to financial problems. It was put up for sale on MRL's website 2 years ago, but since then, Alpenglow has been able to restore and reopen it. The reason I didn't figure this out before is MRL is off by 12 years for the lift's install date. I don't think this lift is really for sale anymore.

I think #2 is the Pioneer double at Northstar. As you mentioned before, #4 appears to be the Dollar lift.

The Pioneer double chair was sold to Eaglecrest in 2006

The picture of the Yan double might be a Skilifts.org picture, so we will have to look through our database to find it.

There is really no close match in length/vertical for this lift in the Yan installation history. Is 1421' length and 686' vertical even possible? Seems like MRL's numbers are wrong as usual.

Also does anyone know why they try to hide the identity of these lifts that are for sale? The signs are usually edited out.

Probably because they don't want people to start asking the 'real' history of these lifts. However, I think they would be required to provide this information to the buyer if they ask, but maybe it's a tactic to get people to contact MRLs to get that information?

Are you sure that is Powderhorn at Solitude that is up for sale. Some inconsistancies with the stats include: the chair size on Powderhorn is not triple but double and I am not sure of the exact vertical rise but it has to be more than 686ft. The 686 ft vertical sounds more like its twin "Apex" although I'm not sure why Apex would need an upgrade. Has Solitude announced anything yet?

The picture is of Powderhorn, but the stats are for Sunrise.

It is the headwaters lift at Moonlight Basin.

Here is what gave it away:

That lift is from Europe, they sometimes list lifts from over there.

I am very surprsied that Solitude replaces high speed lift of Powder Horn this coming summer. I will e-mail and ask them some questions. I will post you any news.

Sunrise's chairs are triple that how many people sit each chair. They use Sunrise for summer scenic rides and bikers. Summit, Powder Horn, Alex, and Link (begiiner lift)...the chairs are double. Moonbeam and Honeycomb are quad fixed grip lifts. Eagle Express is quad high speed lift. Solitude has only one high speed lift. Solitude looks like "behind" to replace new lifts.

Also, I heard they plan to have apline slides and I don't know when.

am wondering if folks consider code compliance w/the latest edition of b77 prior to purchasing old lifts? kinda uncomfortable on the AHJ to explain to the unhappy new owners that their new lift needs current: bullwheel retention (design intent different from earlier to later codes), carrier swing clearance (ditto), terminal swing clearances (ditto), electronic drive safeties, detachable carrier "shake-testing" performance (previous edition only req'd static test), fall protection attachment points, approved tower ladders, MRT on the rope, etc.

would they hire a PE to compare the old vs new code for revisions, then check the relocated lift for compliance?

surely the folks that sell these lifts will be mum on this topic!
