This WAS Yanni's Tacoma house. That was back in the day when he and Linda Evans had a thing going on. Also the era when they followed Ramthra (New Age channeled spirit of a warrior by this lady in Yelm, WA) with Shirley MacLaine.

Man, the Meadows lift is really short. Good thing it's a FGQ instead of a HSQ.

Is it really called "Turkey Trot" like it says on L-P's website?

No it's Meadows Lift.

He Sage, as a mod do you have unlimited uploading? I wouldn't be able to get more than two of those pictures per post.

Sage- the 'strange sheave train' on Sheer Bliss is pretty common on Riblet lifts. It's used where there's really no load, but you want to trap the rope because without the tower there it would be a really long span.

I was actually referring to how it uses a sheave and frame type that I have never seen anywhere else except at snowmass. I attached an image of the three prevalent types or Riblet sheaves. As one can see, it none of them match the ones in the picture of sheer bliss. Plus if you see these mystery assemblies in person, they look as if they are of a larger diameter compared standard Riblet sheaves. My guess is that these were an experimental design before the 80s/90s Riblet sheave trains came to be.

Clearing the cobwebs... yes, I remember those now. standard sheaves were 16" diameter and these do look bigger, 18" or so.

It's amazing how Aspen's gondola dominates the background. Does anyone know how tall that double tower is?

They are 20" sheaves, to go with the 1 3/4" rope. Note that the gooseneck of the chair is also longer to clear the larger sheaves.

What's with those grips on the FIS double at Aspen? It looks like they go completely around the haul rope

Anyone know anything about this lift along the Beartooth Highway in Montana?

It's in Wyoming, actually, and it's the highest ski lift in the state. There are two pomas with the upper one being rebuilt at the time the lower one was added. The Shoshone Natl Forest at that time requested the ski area make public passes available on a limited basis. The Beartooth Pass ski area only runs from approx. mid-May to early July but the guy that owns it (Crazy Creek) hasn't run it the last two years; 1st due to a road closure/landslide and 2nd due to a drought year. Don't know this year's plans but for two years the camps that utilize it have had to transfer to Hood and Mammoth at the last minute, so I imagine money's gotten tight.

I wish I had a picture of the MRG single lift line on a Saturday pow day. Makes that one look small!
