Durango Mtn Resort, Colorado has plans to replace Chair 8 (Legends) with a high-speed lift in 2009. No word on the replacement of Chair 4 (Twilight) which was going to be the next lift replaced with a HSQ.

I love the old Twilight lift... A very cool old Ribbie, it is true that it is not as busy as most of the others but it does do a good job for what it serves.

Boyne has plans of installing a chondola at Sunday River, although it's unknown when it will be installed.

they have been saying this for years now that they want to replace that lift. But we have heard nothing concrete about it yet.

The quotes are just starting to roll in regarding replacement of either the Motherlode and Paradise chairs or both.

There has been some rumors circulating around here in NH that Ragged Mountain may replace the Spear Mountain Triple chair with a HSQ in 2009, but those have all just been rumors.
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

A ski resort that's been plagued with financial troubles should focus on developing a new marketing strategy than purchasing a new HSQ, unless of course the new owners have cash to blow.

Buck Hill supposedly will be reinstalling the Hall Double that they removed 2 years ago within the next two summers. Just rumor of course, but it should happen.

Why would they remove a lift they have already taken out?

The rumors keep pouring in at Snoqualmie about a HSQ at Silver Fir this summer or next. But they are just rumors.
- Jeff

Why couldn't they of come up with "Global Cooling"?

Allan:

Good to hear about a HSQ as a replacement for Motherlode. In January, I stopped in Rossland for a day's skiing while on my way back to Edmonton from Vancouver. The current fixed grip two lift combo makes for a LOONNGG ride to the top.

BTW: What on tap as a replacement for Paradise?

I haven't heard any of those rumours; instead, I keep hearing how they can barely keep what they have running. I rather doubt their new owners will build anything new before they make a level-headed assesment of what needs to be done to existing assets.

Mount Snow is looking at replacing the summit local triple with either a HSQ or an HSS next summer - May get put off until summer 2010 though due to the likely large $$ West Lake Reservoir project and expansion to 100% snowmaking that should/will be occuring then pending VT ACT 250 approval of the snowmaking project later this year(currently waiting for the snow to mely around the proposed reservoir site so a study can be down to see if the bears indigenous to the area like to eat the nuts/twigs/berries around the site :bangin: .

Also on Mount Snow's lift horizon (likely a year after the summit local replacement) is the upgrade of the Sunbrook FGQ to a HSQ
