Thanks. I like Brian, colorful guy. He worked with us at Loon this fall on two cable shortenings.

Unfortunately I did not get the chance to meet him. My son and daughter helped him and it snowed all day.

How many splicers are there in North America? I think I read that there aren't too many.

We have one that does our area, Bill Dyck (not sure if that's the correct spelling on the last name).

Is Crystals lift done? If not they should hurry up and get it done or it might get snowed in then that would be a big pain.

Yeah, I am but I am pretty much done with the hours for my project. As of last week the cable was strung but not spliced. Load test is scheduled for this week and the opening is on Dec. 8th snow permitting.

It is snowed in, that's for sure. I could get a view of the top terminal today, but it was impossible to tell if the cable and/or chairs are on. I am convinced that they are still working and do not want anyone to ski the area so they are holding off on opening Rex. The mountain trail maps are not updated with the new lift and all the logs are still in F and B lots.

I had been wondering where you guys were going to do the splice. I can't imagine you guys having to work in that up there. I went skiing today and yesterday at Crystal and the snow is brutal. Keep up the good work, we are all excited to have it finished. Do you know when the load test is going to be?

Did you take any other pictures? As you may know, I am doing my high school senior project on the Northway lift making a photo journal of the construction. Do you mind if I use that picture in it?

We start splicing our new lifts today at Loon. It should be fun as its snowing here. I think we're doing Lincoln today and then Tote Road tomorrow or Wednesday. Tote Road will be a bullwheel splice. I guess I'll find out why its "dreaded". I'll try to take some pictures. They've scheduled our load tests for December 11-13.
