Yesterday I went up for my first day of the season. There was naught but a flake of natural snow, and Breck had one run open on the whole mountain. Basically, the snow ends where the trail ends. Here's a few pictures that I took between Breckenridge and Keystone.

Hopefully the snow will start flying (real snow that is) soon. It's going to be quite a bummer for Thanksgiving if nothing happens soon.

That's poor management on Keystone for running both Summit Express and River Run Gondola the same day this early in the season.

we don't have diddily SQUAT here! :(

when i was at keystone they were just running the summit express at the end of the day to help ease lift lines downloading the gondi. it helped a little but wasn't totally necessary. the north peak is also running, but for the US ski team only. hopefully that will be open to the public soon.

Typicaly the Gondola will run in the morning and Summit is cycled on as nessecery, usualy just at the end of the day.

We have snow... It just can't decide if it wants to stay.

Couldn't they just open the Outpost Gondola to access North Peak? As to you guys in the Northwest GRRRRR....

We could open Outpost if you like skiing runs with no snow on them, as of right now there are no runs, other than the US Ski Teams training run Starfire that have ample enough snow to allow skiing nor is there any snow leading to the lift other than the run out of Starfire. Also note that I said no ski access not lift access.

Because of work that has been required to repair the Robertson Tunnel (The tunnel that sends water to all of you Denverites which is our main source for snowmaking water) we have been unable to make snow except in small batches with the water that we can draw off the Snake River. Now that the repair has been completed we are going to be able to start making more snow very soon and will be opening more as snow allows.

Cypress looked pretty amazing today, snow top to bottom...I almost went up there to check it out...

PoloX, did that affect Breck's snowmaking by chance?

Here in Minnesota, we have seen some snow here and there, and frost in the mornings sometimes as well. In a day or two, it will finally cool down into the lower 20's at night, which is somewhat average for Minnesota in November. That means 40's during the day. Hopefully, after Thanksgiving, the weather will cool down more to allow snow to fall naturally! Unlikely. If the temps stay nice and cool at night though, snowmaking will begin!

Winter is here in Austria, 180cm and still snowing. Lifts open later this month for the winter season here in Arlberg. After a poor snow year in the alps last year, this is great.
