Well I'll be damned! They got the towers in. Thank God, because I've been really looking forward to skiing it this year. Looks like they had great flying weather too. Skier, great job on the photos!

I was told that they rented it from a company that had it brought over from Austria, but Crystal got insurance on the rental so the rental company is somehow responsible for getting it out. The rental company was just going to pay the Chinook Helicopter a little extra money to lift out the machine while the towers were being done. When the Chinook failed to show up 3 times, Crystal brought in the smaller K-Max instead so the Spider is there for the long haul I guess. There is a tarp over some of it and cables holding it in place.

I believe that telemechanique is a poster here as well under a different name.

Telemechanic = SuperRat (or a telemarking mechanic)

Telemecanique = another guy (or a switch commonly used in Doppelmayr detachables)

Some pictures of the Zuma quad at A-Basin. It appears to be almost finished if it isn't already.

I don't mind the sonalerts, but the horn you can hear for about 1000 ft in every direction.

I hate those things too! Does the horn have an allen head adjustment screw on it? If so tighten that sucker up and your problems are solved.

Found the volume control potentiometer inside the horn. Now you can hear it from the ground below the station and not on the deck at the lodge.

Does anyone know what these 4 cables are? There is the big red one, which contains three copper cables and then a skinny black copper one and 2 pvc pipes.
Attachement crystal_...4_07_044.jpg

The 'big red one' is primary power, three-phase usually, which will then be stepped down to 480 inside the transformer that will be sitting on that concrete pad. The skinny black one is comms, and the copper appears to be the ground for the transformer. I coudn't tell you what's in the PVC, depends on where the pipes lead. If they go from the transformer to the lift itself then they are the main 480 feed.
You get any dust or other foreign particles in your eyes that day

Anymore progress on Northway, such as the splice? Skier, are you still following this for your project?

Will it be harder to hook up to cable or whatever they do since the lift is a mile long?

Yeah, I am but I am pretty much done with the hours for my project. As of last week the cable was strung but not spliced. Load test is scheduled for this week and the opening is on Dec. 8th snow permitting.
