Speaking of random lift photos, Mikest2, do you have any pictures of the Cliff Chair? The only pictures I have seen of it were in the Doppelmayr Worldbook. I remember it having an odd mix of Doppelmayr and Garaventa CTEC parts. Also, do you know why Big White and Silver Star buy lifts from both L-P and D-CTEC? It seems like all the fixed grips are Doppelmayrs and the detachables are Leitner-Pomas.

I am on Vacation right now, so I've only got a couple of cliff shots. The cliff is a ctec drive and return, all doppelmayr line gear, grips and chairs. I've got 3 doppelmayr detachables, 2 poma detaches, and 1 leitner detach.
We buy whatever is the best deal or equipment package at the time. The cliff for example was the only Fg we could get that year.

Needs a sign that says " Hit Head Here "

Lovely :) When we put our zip line on t26 on Motherlode, we welded the number on the bottom side of the lifting frame... I've since cracked my head on it too many times to count. You can also see forest fire smoke on the far right of the pic.

I think that is the way 95% of resorts select lifts there are exceptions like Aspen/Snowmass (L-P) and Beaver Creek (DoppelmayrCTEC). You can also break it down by State Utah (D-CTEC), Colorado (becoming L-P dominant) Guess how close the factory is to your door makes a difference.

Haha I don't think I've ever seen a display that says "Lift Running Fast." That is hillarious! All the ones I worked on actually showed the speed. What happens when you reduce the speed does it say "Lift running slow as molasses?" Haha sorry that was just too funny.

Garaventa's, CTEC's, and Doppelmayr's all say the speed of the lift corresponding to the button of that speed.

Examples: (button name first, speed displayed second)

Fast: Lift Running Fast. (operational speed)
Medium: Lift running medium. (Slow speed)
Slow: Lift Running slow. (Crawl/start speed)

That's the display on your local beginner lift  Any lift electrical engineer types here (Brian Kelley?) ought to take notice of this, even if you only do it on one lift for a joke...

Some extremely expensive software and in depth know how of PLC programming can get you a different annunciation on your display. How about when you have a number of PLC generated faults pop up, the computer annunciates "you're screwed, might as well turn me off and come back tomorrow morning"

Not a lift, but I didn't want to start a new topic.

Anyone know where this development is? It is called Timberline and the picture is from James Niehues' Website.

Ok an update on this development on peak 8 at Breck, I was able to find out that from this angle the road running roughly horizontal is an existing road and that in the picture it fails to show the existing homes and they have been replaced with newer looking construction for this display. There have only been two new lots that were able to be created, the two roads running verticaly are just driveways. Oh and one of the lots at 0.38 acres sold last month for $2.7 mil.

For load tests, I always thought it would be fun to invite all the clients of Jenny Craig, or Weightwatchers to go for a chairlift ride !

What about the 'Silver Bullet'? A certain lift was named that around here, supposedly from sponsorship.
