The old Ajax Express was similar the the old Summit Express at Winter Park. It had an alpha/falcon style drive, not a vault. Something that can also be noted was that it rotated in the opposite direction of the current lift. You can kind see what it looked like if you look at the Campground lift at Snowmass as it uses the original tower heads, sheave trains, and drive terminal from the Ajax Express.

some clarification:
Several years ago I referred to the older Poma detachables as 'Falcon' lifts because the only reference I had was off my parts sheet. It listed the charriers as 'Falcon' style and I extended that name to the entire lift. The Alpha terminal was already in use on fixed-grips, so we started calling the combined lift the Alpha/Falcon. I've since been corrected by Poma's service department that the actual name of that series of lifts, whether Alpha-drive or vault, are called Performance. The Competition lifts are the next model, such as Beaver Run or the Eagle.

I think that the Adirondack Express at Gore and the Snowlite Express at Hunter use this design, but I'm not sure. I'm not that savvy on NY lifts.
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

Yes, the one at Hunter does but the Adirondack Express is totally different.

How many Performance series lifts are still in use?? I know that the peak 10 detach at breck is one (albeit with new carriers.) Any others??
Off the top of my head:
American Flyer (Copper)
Falcon, Colorado (Breckenridge)
Pioneer (Winter Park)
Siberia (Squaw Valley)
Chair 2/Liberator (Mission Ridge)
Snowlight Express (Hunter)
Shirley Lake at Squaw was one as well, it's been torn down and I haven't heard if it's going back up somewhere else. Aside from Colorado and the Flyer, all of these have the Alpha drive terminal.

There is also Coney Glade at snowmass that uses a "performance" terminal with an alpha drive. It is kinda funny because coney has a bottom drive where as most of the other ones I have seen are top drive. There is also the big burn lift but that one is different compared to other competition lifts.
The Silver Queen gondola at aspen has a performance terminal too but the actual performance terminal skin is only on the outside part of the terminal.

Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.
"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"
