At that point, I think I would stop skiing Peak 8 from the base (Which I rarely do), if not Breckenridge all together. A HSE would be absolutley INSANE!!!!! There would be traffic jams on the runs..........

The replacement of Colorado with a HS8 is very unlikely. Even a HS6 is at this point just rumor, If you don't want crowds just ski Rocky Mountain but you have to be able to ski moguls for most of the runs.

That's what I do! Rocky Mtn., 6, or t-bar. Otherwise E and F.

Amen to that. I made a bet with my friend that I could beat him to Imperial Superchair by taking Rocky Mtn. to the t-bar as he took Colorado to chair 6. He owed me a lot of money.

I would think they might do a HSE just to say they have the first one in the USA. I agree when I was there last there seemed to be enough traffic on the runs. I miss old chair 2 though...

It started above the flat section above the base, and went under Colorado to the top of approximately the trail springmier. It wasn't a very long lift, but it served the same terrain without the long lines and the long flat section. I think that it was removed when Rocky Mountain Superchair was put in. It was built by Heron sometime in the 60s.

It ended in the open area to the right of where the SuperConnect unloads above and between the trails Tiger and 4 O'Clock, it was removed when Rocky Mountain was installed and was a 1965 install. It was by far the best way to ski Breck on busy days but I would ride it just because it was a cool old lift.

Thanks for writing about chair 2 I didn't make it to a computer on Friday or the weekend. Ya it was a great chair with no lines and the first time I rode it I was the first one on the lift that day and I was on the #1 chair.
Another old lift bit the dust!

The Spillway chairs are very likely to be replaced with a high speed quad, maybe the Double Runner Chairs too.

Thats a shame those dual lifts are cool. At Peek-n-Peak, NY near where I grew up they had 2 dual triples and a dual double in the beginners area! Actually I think they are still there. If so I'll try to get pics next time I go home. All 3 (err 6) are CTEC's.

Sun Valley announced 2 more high speed quads for Dollar Mountain. Half Dollar and Elkhorn will be replaced.

It is interesting to see how many lifts are going up in the central west. From what I know up here in Montana, Bridger Bowl plans on adding two new lifts within the next few years. One has been planned for the summer of 2008 in Slushman's terrain and the other is in Bradley's Meadow, which does not have any set date as to when lift operations will be constructed. The new lift will be the old Peruvian lift. Here is the link if anyone is interested.
