On the topic of bullwheels when I worked the Superstar drive terminal in 1999-2002 that bullwheel was WARPED. There was at least an inch or two difference at different points on the bullwheel as far as height goes. Does anyone know if this was ever fixed?? I know at one point the E-Brake weld actually failed because of this and the pad actually fell through the skin requiring the lift to be shut down for the rest of the day until the pad could be re-welded!

Off topic but, First, that type of Yan wheel cannot be straightened, second the Warped wheel did not cause the failure, and lastly the pad did not fail. However what did cause the failure is design, the force applied from the air bags to open the unit was greater than the strength of the steel.
The failure:

The guy hurt his back, he was loaded onto the tram on a backboard and sent down. One more roll and he'd no longer be with us!

His load may have shifted? I'm not 100% sure. He's damn lucky though.

When I first looked at it I thought it had fallen off the tram, as I have seen pictures of them hanging similar pieces of machinery from the cabins.

The lastest shot from our marketing department. The return station and all towers are standing now. Sorry for the lack of shots on my part - been on holidays since the last week of July, except for three days when I was back pulling YAN carriers apart.

I'd be happy to! However, some are a bit blurry due to lighting and other things.

I thought it was interesting to see that Vail had medium buttons on their pedestals. The L-P guys said that it was a special request, along with different catwalks on the towers. Does anyone know if they have medium buttons on the other Poma's? I know they had the catwalks put in on the towers on the older Poma's, but I'm not sure about the Medium buttons. Did they just do that so the Lifty's won't have to learn a different system, or is there another reason?

The new E-Stop guards and orange signal buttons are standard, from what I understand. Does anyone know why signal became orange?

Isn't it in the code that the buttons have to be different colors now?

Lift Kid, did they say what lift it is for Snowmass? I thought they were only installing a fg quad this summer.

Oops. That was an error. I meant the lift for Steamboat. I believe it was a 30 tire, per acceleration and deceleration sides.

800 HP Omega 6 Place
Detachable Chair

That lift looks like a Partek? I wonder if it is new or not? I can't see why D-CTEC would still be making Partek designs?

Anyways, here are some pictures I found of A-Basin:
