A YAN/Hall combination? That would be interesting to see. I wonder how they will use the Hall parts. Probably the only thing they could use is the tower caps and the sheaves.

 Another Frankenlift! Our mechanics would love that one!! I catch hell 'cause I like our Yans better than the Halls

Like many people I have mixed feelings about this lift. One, it will be cool to have a new lift one lots of new left served runs. But to lose the North Back country will be sad, now it well be not packed but more people about.

Why couldn't they of come up with "Global Cooling"?

I am really not sure where Crystal gets the "New Lift Served Runs" idea. Most of the terrain goes onto I-5 and back to the base. It may be long, but it is lift served. I am still not quite sure how much of Brand X I will be able to get back to the lift from.

As I understand it, there will be several 'new' runs- mainly extensions out of Morning Glory, Paradise, Spook Hill, and such. There will also be a new egress out of the bottom of Brand X allowing for return trips; I don't think there will be much loss of vertical over the original exit to Lower Northway.

The mid station and top of the gondola at Revelstoke, 26 towers... the lower part of the gondola will be completed next year. A lot of rock, and some steep cliff bands will make the installation a bit challenging.
Nothing is so perfectly amusing as a total change of ideas.

I hiked from the top of the new lift down. Right now they are in the process of heli-logging. All the trees are cut, but very few have been removed. The liftline seems very wide for a double chair...

The only part that has arrived, there are two of these. Does 4S Products make the haul rope or is this something else?

Skier, will it be former Millicent lift?

Wow there are snow in the pictures. Here in the Wasatch Mountain...all snow is gone alreardy. The temperature in the mountain is average 85 and the valley, the temperature stays 100. No rain since last April.

No, this will be a new Doppelmayr CTEC double. Their plan is to finish logging in the next few weeks, then work on foundations as soon as all the snow is gone. It will be late August/Early September before any towers are flown. The top two towers seem to be perched on the cliffs, it is very steep up there. There are going to be around 22 or so towers in all. Walking this thing made it seem very long and very steep. As of right now, there is no road to the top drive or bottom terminals.

That would be the comm line, it is a 25 pair 19 guage, figure 8 cable. The integral guy strand is 3/8 diameter. 3/8 is good ! It'll hold up to about a foot of cocktail ice before snapping.
