Very nice. I'm wondering if the operator's cabin was included with the lift, as Whistler's Yan HSQs had that type of cabin.

I saw this lift running one of the 3 days that I visited Lake Louise last March.
On the pictures the frendly giant express was close due to the low attendance.

Well Lake Louise has plans of installing a new gondola from a new base village, however I think they should keep this lift around since it's the real last Yan HSQ.

Its kind of a nickname. You see Yan came up with the flat terminal idea that kind of looks like a pancake, and so you add YAN+PANCAKE and get Yancake. Also been known to see LEITNER+PANCAKE and get Leitnercake. Get it? :)

lake louise had a gondi from the village several years back but it was since demolished. A smart idea might have been to hold off the six pack and replace both yans with a gondi with a midstation

That would be a good idea.

BTW: The original gondola only ran to a parking lot 1/2 way down the road from the base, not to the village.
