Their losses are subsidized by France.

However, there have been quite a few orders from FEDEX for the A380 and I believe UPS will fallow.

FedEx and UPS both had orders for the A380 cargo version but they both cancelled them, so now there are no orders for the cargo version at all

How many people does the A380 carry? How about the 747? Or the 787?

The new Boeing 747 Dreamliner:

I don't understand why they just don't make the wings at the Everett plant with the rest of the plane. One of my teachers told me that when Boeing outsourced its door manufacturing division to India, that the doors were too big and didn't fit the planes. It had to use its landing gear division to scale down the new doors.

it might be more expenisve, but wouldn't it be better if they made the whole thing here? Like they used to?

less expensive=better for Boeing

Well lets see, Boeing spent about $1.4 billion building these four Dream Lifters and then there is the fuel that's required to ship these pieces to Washington.

It seems like a negative NPV for this wing ordeal. Boeing has made a lot of weird decisions lately, like moving the company's headquarters to Chicago, IL since it thought it gave the company a competitive advantage. There is also no corporation income tax in Washington, while Illinois is 7.3%

Why? They have their shops in Washington. This makes no sense.

We have no idea what concessions were made by the state to get this powerhouse in Illinois.

My thoughts, exactly. I'd like to see the video of the guy running the controller!

Did any of you hear of the guy who made the B-52 R/C airplane with real turbine engines? It took like three guys to fly it. It crashed on its first flight.

The True Queen of the Sky my friends, the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar. Not very many left in service now, sadly.
