Yep. Sun Valley Co. received city approval a little over a week ago to install the new lifts. The contractors have been working 7 days a week to get the old lifts down. The haul rope is already off Big Dollar and they are working today on the rigging for the rope removal on Quarter Dollar.

So if Mad River lifts is buying these lifts why is DoppelmayrCTEC doing the decommissoning? I thought MRL was a full service company?

How do we know that Mad River Lifts is involved with this project?

They are for sale on MRL's website, but that does not mean anything. SVmech17 is the one who said they were being sold to MRL I think.

I took a firefighting class with a friend from sun valley (he's a supervisor for snowmaking) this last weekend and he said the lifts will be sold to MRL. He also said the lifts are not being taken down by dopp or MRL. He couldnt remember the name of the company but said they are from canada. Doppelmayr will install the lifts 100%. Thats all i know.

I assumed DoppelmayrCTEC was doing it because the rope pulling equipment in the photos but I remembered later that DoppelmarCTEC rents the winches, rigging, etc. out to other contractors and ski resorts.

I stopped by dollar today and all the vehicles were white and had no logos on them. They did have canada license plates though.

The Quater Dollar drive terminal looked like it was pretty well taken apart (photo 2). They were also in the process of taking apart the tension terminal with a crane. The dollar drive terminal looks like it hasnt been touched, probably because the road to the top is still wet. The tension terminal is being taken apart but it looks like they just started taking it apart today. All the towers on both lifts are rigged up for a helio to come in anytime (photo 1).

It always seems that the tower heads arrive long before the anchor bolts !

Winter Park's Panoramic Express has a top terminal before the old lift is even gone.

Highlander Ski Lift Services is demo'ing the old lifts, and installing the new one. A buddy I worked with at Deer Valley is working with that crew this summer.

For the record, MRL doesn't BUY anything. All they do is broker the lifts for a fee. If they can't sell it, it'll be in your parking lot all winter.

Wait a second, if QD at Sun Valley is where I think it is and they are putting in a HSQ in its place, that sure seems like a waste of resources to put a HSQ there... That mountain really isn't a mountain, its a hill... That small lift to the right of QD, I remember going to Sun Valley back in the late 80s during the summertime and I had noticed that the cable for the lift was laying on the ground, complete with chairs still attached. Was very strange, did not seem like any construction going on in the area. I'm not able to access skilifts.org (been down for 2 days?) but from the looks of the photos on this topic they look like Yan lifts in pretty good condition.

Skilifts.org is working fine for me, but I have experienced similar issues when I'm at school. It's most likely a problem with one of the Internet router centers which has temporally disabled connections that server, most likely because of a cyber attack on it.

We need to get Skilifts.org moved onto our semi dedicated server since that's what our hosting plan is for, yet Skilifts.org is still on a shared server.

Did you see which type of grip they are using? All of the artist drawings show it with a DT grip. (It surprises me that they even know what the grip looks like.)

didn't look, the gondolas were also in the terminal. i'll but up later this summer and i'll check then.
