Today has changed my mind about Squaw. The place ROCKS! It would be my favorite resort if not for the fact that the powder was almost tracked out by the time I got to the slopes (15 minutes after opening).
I apologize if this has already been stated. I happened to notice that all the wheels that speed up the funitel as it leaves the terminal seem to go at the same speed. A motor is attatched to the entire set by a belt and it speeds up the entire series of wheels. I mainly deduced this through the fact that the end wheel slowed down greatly after the funitel was on the line and that the belt sped up as the cabin moved through, that is unless my eyes deceived me.

Lucky you, powder today. You should have gone to granite chief or red dog. Fun stuff with powder. If you are still there, check out the motors of both the funitel and the cable car.

The upper terminal. Cabin parking is in the center (between uphill and downhill) and to the right of the cabin on the right of the picture. I will try and get a better one of the parking next time i go.

Yeah, I got really lucky with the powder. I skiied both red dog and Granite Chief later in the day, but by the point I got there, there was no fresh powder left. I spent most of my time at Headwall.
