Yes, Timberline is still open to the public, but during low wind days during the week, it will be closed so that the helicopter can fly in concrete.

Isn't it a little early to be working on Timberline? There's still a few weeks left in the season

Winter Park agreed to remove it over snow to limit environmental damage, and considering how little snow there is, it doesn't seem too early to me.

Not removing old Timberline until new towers fly in. Over the snow to get track vehicles up and back without damage to soils, haul large terminal pieces on sleds on the snow, tracked crane, etc. This is the reason.

Nice. I saw them stringing the strawline but the day they pulled and spliced I was at work. That's one hell of a rigging project.

Is that Beaver Creek? I forgot that gondola has Euro style towers.

I'm pretty sure that those are regular towers. Most of them are two segments. European towers taper from the bottom.

The tower heads on the BC gondola appear to be of European design. I really do like the tapering towers though. Its a really good look!

Yeah the tower heads definately are European. It even has the short compression assembely tower head.
