That's too bad it was removed but it did seem to be pretty pointless on where it was located. I thought it might be a high-speed one since when it was at its first home, the slope length looked pretty long.

Its a shame that they removed it, Although from what I heard when I was at Powderhorn last year it didnt run at all and it had gotten to the point where they were only using it for races as the run right next to it is their main race run. I fortunately got a few pictures of it before it was removed. It had a long slope length and a fair vertical drop for a non high speed poma.

Mine was the 444 Express at Spirit Mountain MN. It was a 1988 Borvig/Leitner bubble abortion. It was 4000' long, 4 minutes, and a quad, hence 444. still running

My first HSQ was Peru Express when i was probably 1 or 2. I remember being in a backpack and looking over the edge of the chair and seeing the bottom disappear as we went over the ridge. My first gondi was River Run, and i think i went on Storm King at Copper when i was maybe four.

My first high speed quad was the canyon express at Mommoth.

My first detach ride was on Crest Express at Brighton Resort Utah (1991 doppelmayr) I loved this lift! I remember loading the lift with my mom and she said "now get ready because it's about to speed up" Kinda neat too because years later I got to open this lift in the morning and do all the pre op. checks, checking switches etc. First lift ride ever was at Sundance the year they put in the Garaventa CTEC fixed quad. I think this was 94 or 95

my first hsq (that i remember) was the sunny spruce quad @ stowe, vt
i started skiing when i was four and i went to snowmass, co and i rode pretty far up but i dont remember very well. then i skiied again when i was around 11 and i went to stowe and have been going there every year since, my second year i there i think i went on it. i might be going back to snowmass next year...i certainly hope so!

My first HSQ was Beaver Run at Breckenridge. I was really shocked at how fast it was. My parents actually tried to explain why it went so fast because I kept on asking why it was slow when I got on and off. My parents said that the lift switched gears in the station. Now I know what really happens. Though their explaination was pretty good considering that I was 7.

For my first lift altogether it would be the bunny hill towrope at Hyland Ski and Snowboard Area. My first chairlift was the middle triple at Hyland. My first FGQ was the quad at Buck Hill.

My first high speed lift was Chinook Express at Crystal Mountain it was fun just speeding up and going faster on the lift since I had taken Discovery lift so many times at Crystal. First chairlift was on Snoqualmie Summit and I think it was easyrider triple chair.

First High Speed Lift: Boyne Mountain, MI - Mountain Express High Speed 6 (Doppelmayr 1992) - rode it in Dec. 1994

First Lift Ever: Shanty Creek - Riblet Double 1992 (on cross-country skis), 2nd Snowsnake, MI Riblet Triple 1993 (First lift on downhill skis)

High Speed: Adirondack Express high speed triple (or whatever they called it back in January of '85 after it opened back then - slight Alzhiemer's moment here ) at Gore.

First Ever: Not sure of Mfg. J-Bar at Four Seasons Resort (formally known as 90 Acres) outside of Syracuse, NY in December 1979.

My first ride was Park City Gondola in 1965 (now it is gone). My first ride chairlift was Mary Fixed Grip Double Lift at Brighton in 1975. (Now Mary Lift was replaced to Crest HS Express in 1981.) Then my second ride was Majestic Fixed Grip Double Lift in the same year.

In 1983, my first ride HS was Crest Express at Brighton. First, I don't like it, because the chairs turned round, and it was slow, which I didn't know the chairs get off from the cable, it moved slow and the chairs get on the cable, speed up, arrive the terminal, get off and make it slow. I rode Majestic Lift, and I watched the Majestic chair and Crest chair raced, and of course, The Crest chair zoomed fast. I remember I rode the Park City Gondola and Disneyland Gondola. Both were almost the same as high speed lift. That was where I started to interest how HS worked and the HS chairlifts is my hobby.

I wonder about the future...something with better technical will be faster than high speed lifts? Maybe beam up with one second period of the time travel?

River Run (Sun Valley)

My first HSQ ride was on the Rainier Express at Crystal. I remember it had only been open for a few weeks at the time.

I was reading about high speed surface lifts, and Breck's t-bar, although fixed grip runs at 720 fpm, which is faster than any detachable pomalift. It may not be detachable, but is definately high speed.

My first High Speed Lift would have been the Old Wildcat Gondola, NH (also the first such lift in America, I believe). My first High Speed Detachable Quad would be the Bethlehem Express at Bretton Woods, NH (the first such lift to be built in NH).
