Ok, how many lifts do we know of being installed this year? Or that we think might be installed?

I'm pretty sure TR and/or lastchair44 said that the new Sultan Express at DV was going in this year, and when I ws there a few weeks ago, I heard that DV is building a housing development in that flat meadow by the Quincy lift (I'll find a pic later) in partnership with the mining company that owns the land in Empire Canyon, and in return, the mining company is going to let DV install a new lift in Empire Canyon.

In the 'Planned Lifts' section of the DV page on skilifts.org, it says Sultan Express, then it has an unnamed lift. I'm guessing that the Empire Canyon lift is the unnamed one

Talk has been going around about expansion into Tres Hombres @ Marmot but no plans have been released. I am not sure if it'll happen next season but silverstar eventually plans to replace the summit and yellow chairs.

Willamette Pass, OR: FG Gondola
Alpine Meadows, CA: HSQ <-- Not sure if it's going in this year.
Kirkwood, CA: HSQ
Mt. Rose, CA: Was it another HSS or a HSQ?
Crystal, WA: Maybe a HSQ?
Tamarack, ID: 2 HSQs plus a platter lift
Cyrpess B.C.: HSQ I think
Snowbird, UT: HSQ

That's all I can think of.

-squaw may upgrage Links to a FGQ
-sugar bowl has the go-ahead to re-align crows nest, but i dunno when.
-Mt Rose is putting in a HSS and a FGQ
-I think heavenly may remove the tram, but thats not a new lift.
-Homewood has plans for new lifts, but i dunno when they start.
-Dodge Ridge and Bear Valley are likely to be replacing some lifts soon.
-Sierra Summit has the go-ahead for a new lift and a few new runs, but i dunno when.

Thats all i know of right now. And just a note, The new HSQ at Kirkwood will replace chair 7 (Hole 'n Wall). THey have plans for several more lifts including 2 more hsq's besides the one going in this summer.

This year looks like it might be a good one for new lifts :)

Crystal Mtn, WA is a go ahead only if they get there ROD which was suppose to be available last November, as of today, no ROD has been released.

My guess is that if they get an ROD, they will start on the tram, a 2 year project. Maybe put in a HSQ...

they will be in bachelor gulch...not replacing anything but providing better access to the new hotel they built there. one will go up to the top of the strawberry park lift and the other will run below that.

i would assume they will be doppelmayrCTEC lifts but i can't confirm that yet

Where is the local ridge Allan? I was looking at an old Red Mountain trail map and it shows the lift lines for the next mountain over where there are plans for 2 fixed grip triples and a t-bar or something. However, from looking at Red's expansion, those look to be low capacity HSQs.

It's whitewolfe ridge - I think that's the one with the "planned" T-Bar, but I can't remember what that map said. It'll start as a FGT, then go from there, we just don't need HS capacity yet!!

Yea, I was thinking that too. I just thought it would be weird if you ripped that lift out in the next decade or something, while many of your other lifts are pretty old. Motherload is the only lift that probably needs to be replaced with a HSL.

As long as they extended motherlode to the base - yes a HS would be nice. I'll try and confirm the details as it gets closer to summer!

There are going to be a lot this year; there were hardly any last year.

Is one of the new HSQs at BC going to replace the Bachelor Gulch Express lift, or are they both new lifts?
