I thought you said you heard from a ski instructor it was going to be by the Empire Express?

I did, but I've also heard that in years past, and it could have been going on Deer Crest like they've also been talking about for a while

Why replace the current Glacier Chaser at Big Mountain? It doensn't make a whole lot of sense... Unless they are moving it to Swift Creek, which would, in all honesty, be a waste when they could just put in a new HSQ for Swift Creek unless the Glacier Chaser has gotten old since I was last there...

Tamarack will probably be building the Outlook Express this summer since the trail map in Ski Magazine showed the lift line for it.

Although the Conoe Express wasn't shown on this trail map.

Is the Rosebowl Express at Beaver Creek a go for this summer?

Last I heard, the Timberline/ Parsenn HSS (at Winter PArk/ MJ) is a definate for 07. What I'm not sure about is if the existing Heron-Poma FGD is going to be moved to replace something else or scrapped. I think the Sunnyside upgrade might be for 08 or 09. The bottom terminal of Timberline/ PArsenn being located adjacent to the bottom terminal of the Sunnyside should help the current congestion problem on the SUnnyside a little by taking some traffic away from it.

I heard that Timberline would go to replace Looking Glass, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Skier,

Chair 1 = Haymeadow.

I do not mean Chair 6. I do not mean Chair 12 or 2 or 8 or any other chair. I mean CHAIR 1.

Why in the world would they make the beginner chair a high speed gondola?

Someone feels that it's safer to tranport kids that way then what is in place now. I think a HSQ would work just fine.

I had heard that as a possibility. which, I agree, does not make a lot of sense to replace a 42 year old lift with a 35 year old lift (I think the drive terminal was new when the lift went to MJ in 1992). Another possibilty that was being kicked around is using the parts from the Sunnyside lift to replace both Looking Glass and Arrow. Needless to say one of those lifts would receive new drive and return terminals most likely Arrow since it gets the most use. The Sunnyside would then be replaced with a HSQ. Here's another twist: the HSQ replacing Sunnyside might be the current Zephyr HSQ when IT gets replaced with a HSS. That would be quite a lot of lift construction. IF they go that route, I wouldn't be surprised if the current Looking Glass stays until 08 or 09.

I think they should just get some newer bail style chairs (like the ones on Breckenridges double chairs) and use the drive terminal from Timberline on Looking Glass to improve reliability. Bot sure how workable that would be.

Word has it that Beaver Creek is trying to add an Alpine slide, sounded like the chair 1 area might be where they were considering putting it, maybe the chair 1 lift upgrade also has something to do with that decision although I would think the current double chair would work Ok for the slide also. They might want to space the chairs further apart though. Any idea if the HSG is going to follow the exact same line or maybe have a midstation at the top of the current chair 1 then continue to the bottom or top of Rose bowl?

Why would they want a gondola? The beginners would have to take their skis off each time they go up - and that can be hard for a 5 year old...

The lionshead exp is not a for sure in 07' the town and resort are having a fight over the development plan :cursing: . I didn't think that a supplier had been selected yet too. The replacement of chair 1 at BC with a gondola is somthing I had heard about a few years ago. The gondola would have a mid load/unload at the current top of haymedow and then run up to Spruce Saddle taking pressure off chair 6 and allowing them to service the alpine slide and the summer mtn biking with the new lift vs. having two lifts running in the summer

BTW in SAM this month they said that D-CTEC has 8 detachables and 4 fixed grip lifts all ready contracted for next year L-P is also looking at a busy year
