Theres a place for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.
"You could say that a mountain is alot like a woman, once you think you know every inch of her and you're about to dip your skis into some soft, deep powder...Bam, you've got two broken legs, cracked ribs and you pay your $20 just to let her punch your lift ticket all over again"

Vail Resorts reported the Keystone got 12" today and last night. You guys are really lucky. I'll be in Breck on the 28th with plans to ski on the 29th!
I'm not sure where the measurement is taken but during the day yesterday we got at least 8" at keystone on the front and North Peak had much more than 12" that was untracked this morning, but thats most likely due to the wind building it up.

Well as we all know, Vail Resorts likes to exaggerate. I think they added a few inches to that. They may have done the wind build area though.

The thing you have to remember is when the Front Range gets hammered, its an upslope condition with the low - located in the panhandle of OK - spinning the sub-tropical moisture from the Gulfo de Mexico counter-clockwise. This packs the moisture BACK against the Contintal Divide, not over it.
I was working at Copper Dec. 25th, 1982. Denver was buried the night before with 24" and was paralyzed. I called my folks in SoCal and they asked "Are you OK?" "Yea, I just got home from work" "How did you get to work, we saw where Denver had 24" of snow" "Yea, that's Denver - we got 7" and it was great skiing!"

VR usualy does not exaggerate snowfall, in fact my post that you were quoting was in reference to it being under represented at Keystone.

Grease doesn’t “spray” from towers; you may get a glob but no spray.

It in fact was natural snow. I had to shovel it so that we could open our race hill. Yes, the snow on North Peak was deeper than the 12" because it had blow in but the natual fallen snow was 8" deep between 9AM and 3PM, and much more came during the night. The 12" was NOT due to the wind, if anything the natural snow was more and was blown away from where it is measured. I am not trying to turn this into a pissing contest, I'm sorry but you are incorrect.

Well actually, one could say this in June - and be correct. Like Romance in Southern Utah, it's all relative.
