I am very happy that there are a lot of snow up the mountain, and it is nice for Utah ski resorts. I will go skiing at Alta next week. Smile, the ticket will charge me 24 bucks all day.

SVmech17, I hope your knee get recovery soon. Last summer, at Lake Powell, I rode the tube behind the boat, and my body got off into the air, fall back, my knee hit the tube, and my knee got hurt. I couldn't go stairs or climb or sit, and I finally went to see the doctor, and I had physical therapy for two months. I kept excerise everyday, and my knee finally recovered.

Utah Skiers Hit the Slopes
November 28th, 2006 @ 12:16pm
Gene Kennedy Reporting

Utah skiers are loving the fresh powder that fell overnight. 20" of snow in the last 24 hours, with resorts expecting another 10" tonight.

The fresh snow is a shot in the arm for Utah ski resorts as a jumpstart to the holiday ski season.

Pete Martin, skier: "It's pretty good. Made a couple of runs. It's steep, it's good, it's light. It's really nice."

With excellent powder and virtually no lines, skiers had no complaints.

Steve Ludlow, skier: "I was surprised, I thought there'd be a lot of people up here with the holidays going on and everything, but so far it looks really good. No lines, nothing. How can you complain?"

Powder Mountain will be open tomorrow for night skiing from 4:00-10:00 PM. They are still evaluating if they have enough snow for day skiing.

More about avalanche safety coming up later today on Eyewitness News.

We had 4" reported this morning but by mid day it was over 8" on the mountain, Great for powder hounds with the day off but really bad racing conditions. Lots of extra work for the NORAM crews.

Winter Storm Advisory for most of Vermont and NH. Expecting 3 to 7 inches of snow. I know that's not nearly as much as you get out west, but it's making the ground white!!!!!!

It's totally going to get HOT here. :crying: 48 degrees is too warm for snow and we have a chance for rain.

Well - I washed my car the other day and that seems to have finally done it. We got 14" on Sunday night and the dust is finally pinned down. Now if we could only cover the tips of the long grass it would look like winter.
Had it not been for a monumental snow-making effort, a lot of folks down here would have been looking for work. An exhausted snowmaker came into my office last week, flopped into a chair and said that he felt like "a bag of smashed assholes". I'd never heard that one. I told him that I was all out and asked him if he'd settle for Pringles.

You know- you're the second person lately who's mentioned the car wash factor in making it snow. My car's filthy, so maybe I'll give it a go...
