Sugarbush opens today, and Sunday River opened yesterday. Many resorts are following suit for trying to open the day after Thanksgiving, or turkey day itself. Hopefully by this Friday, there'll be a nice mix of places open to get some tracks in!
Chairlift n. A transportation system found at most ski areas in which a series of chairs suspended from a cable rapidly conveys anywhere from one to eight skiers from the front of one line to the back of another.

Wow- judging from our snowpack mere miles away, I wouldn't have thought the high-alpine stuff would be skiable yet.

We open R-lift tomorrow.

Monarch is open as well- nothing on their site says what's open, but anyway.

Well i guess i better share our winter. It's already quite the snow pack, considering this time last year we had nothing. There's at least 30cm on lawns already, and it's falling tonight. All of the local hills opened already on manmade snow, but the help from mothernature was considered a bonus. It's shaping up to be a VERY snowy winter.

I don't know who is following what is going on in the east, but killington and mount snow are open despite the fact that the east has been having a less than satisfactory winter.

I am not sure if any others are open but at least people in the east will have skiing this holiday weekend. Unlike here in michigan where the bigger hills have not even began to make snow, let alone try and open for thanksgiving.

Although Buck Hill and Hyland have been trying to open, they continually lose the snow that they make. For now, the two have given up until it cools down some more. Its going to be about 46 here in the Twin Cities and there isn't any snow in the forecast.

HA! It's bony in a lot of places, high and low, and the T-Bar, and E-Chair are NOT open. The stuff up high may not be open for much longer either.

The t-bar isn't but some runs off of it are. I worded that completely wrong. According to their website, E-chair is open. Here's a link: breckenridge.com (go to the lift status at the bottom and E-chair is the 4th one down)

Actually Hyland is open and it's not bad judging by how it was two days ago when I was over there to jog. Actually it was quite good. Buck, on the other hand, is a total disaster... And I went to Wild today and there was only good snow on Expressway, and then Competition was a strip of death, Wild was a strip of death and was bumpy, and Sunshine was just scary.

Soon maybe,,, looks to finally get 'cooler' late next week, here in N.L. MI. Although, the Indian Summer late November warm weather sure has been nice. It just now put the pressure on us to be 100% in a matter of 4 wks. :shocking: :censored2:  Pressure?? No, I live for it. I don't make the weather, but when she gets cold, we'll farm that snow, and keep them lifts running. Hell, maybe our 'carpet' will show up before X-Mas( :censored2: )

I don't think Hyland is open yet. Their webcam is looking at grass. (facing quad) Their website says nothing about being open for the winter season. Buck Hill is no good at this time. I am becoming jealous of the the guys in the West. :bangin: If I don't see snow sometime soon...... :stretcher:

The Northwest is doing really well. Grouse, Cypress, Seymour have about 2m of base and temp is between -3 to -9 LOCALLY! And its gonna get colder. Grouse has more runs open on the second day of running the Olympic Chair than I ever remember. Grouse even has a double black! Remember, Grouse is like 3 km from the ocean and Vancouver. There is so much snow up there this year its great!

Oh, and Whistler reports they have groomed Lower Peak to Creek which normally doesnt open till Mid December!

I skied Whistler today and lower peak to creek was not open. They have plenty of snow to open all the way down to the village, but haven't because of snowmaking operations. Harmony was accesible from the Peak and was incredible. It was to foggy to see the new lift though. Photo: top of Harmony chair

Crystal Mt. (WA) was awash in snow yesterday (and is today, for that matter). Powder was mid-thigh to waist-deep everywhere.
