Lift 8 (oak street double) and Lift 7 (coonskin double) at telluride

any chairlift or gondola in florida (besides blizzard beach). those things are super old, super rusty, they make strange noises and are never maintained. not just scarry, but completely unsafe. i remember the old disney world open air pulse gondola. bolts missing, rusted anchors and towers, a kid and an employee fell out and died. i was sad when they tore it down but now i realise it was a smart idea.

I wonder if Disney World ever thought of installing a new gondola. They left the terminal buildings and tower footings there. I don't really remember too much of the old one

that was my favorite ride when i was a kid.

i dont think they still have the terminals and footings in place. do you have pics or anything?

The "GAP" chair at Whitecap, WI. A lift that rides both ways between 2 different ridges/aspects, over a tall lattice and pole combo tower in the 'gap'

I am totally with you on that. Any SAM would answer that question with the correct answer. Actually I would not ride any lifts at Whitecap!.

wow, I saw that lift on the trail map. I was wondering if it actually went over a gap as the map illustrates. That is interesting.

What do you have against the lifts at whitecaps brian? I mean, I am planning on skiing at whitecaps this winter and if it is as bad as you say then I might want to re-consider. then again, I am sure they would not run them unless they are safe. (?)

Yeah, pics of Whitecap in general would be nice. I HATE riding the Pallavaccini Lift @ A-Basin, especially on a windy day. Also, Morningside @ Steamboat (@ the top).

Not really scary but my last ride on Storm Peak at Steamboat was terrible. We could not see the carrier in front of us because of the wind whipping the snow at our backs, and making it feel like the chair was pulsing from fast to slow. They closed the chair on the carrier behind us due to 80mph winds that made it almost impossible to even ski down. That part was much scarier than the lift ride since we couldn't see trees until they were about 5 feet away.

The Outpost Gondola at night and River Run Gondola at Keystone. The first time I went to keystone, There were strong winds, and the gondola cars on the River Run Gondola were rocking back and forth and almost hitting the towers. They Closed the Gondola, and everyone had to take the Summit Express which was cold and windy. The Outpost Gondola at night Because it drops really far and then goes back up and you can't tell if you are in a Alien City or not.

Tea cup express @ Vail can get kind of windy at times. Also, the old Miner-denver double (removed this summer) at Buck hill, MN. That lift was falling apart. The sheaves moved side to side at times. Also, the tension system didn't work properly and was replace with a hand crank boat winch so the lift was always low in between the towers.

Paradise Express lift at Crested Butte is scary in a storm just because of the height when you come over the final ridge and you cannot see the ground if its snowing.

That is similar to the lattice tower over a cliff on High Campbell at Crystal Mountain, WA. It is also a Hall double chair
